Resident Evil 4 The Mercenaries DLC Stages Revealed in Datamine

The latest in a series of recent leaks has revealed the Resident Evil 4 “The Mercenaries” DLC stages via datamine. The remade version of the DLC incorporates refreshed and expanded versions of the stages from the original release.

Fans of the original game will remember The Mercenaries challenge mode, which let players assume the role of Leon as well as the game’s supporting cast to take on hordes of enemies in a time-limited challenge. The DLC included four stages based on the game’s village, castle, and island areas, plus a new dockyard location unique to the DLC. As revealed in a new datamine, the Resident Evil 4 remake’s version of The Mercenaries DLC includes what appear to be the same locations:

  • The Village:
Enemies will pour into the village square from all sides. Fight them off while picking up items found between and inside buildings.
  • The Castle:
The cannon is a powerful weapon that can be used to great effect against zealots and catapults alike. It has a limited number of shots though, so choose your targets wisely.
  • The Island:
Keep moving to avoid becoming surrounded in one of the island’s many narrow areas. The fixed turret guns may help you thin out the crowd.
  • The Docks:
Getting distracted by airborne enemies will leave you open to attacks from those on the ground. Find a good spot to keep all your surroundings in view.

Yesterday’s datamine revealed the alternate outfits for Leon and Ada as well as a playable Luis in The Mercenaries DLC, and another datamine previously indicated that a version of the “Separate Ways” DLC is in development for the game. While the latter leak has not yet been confirmed, The Mercenaries DLC is officially set for an April 7 release as a free post-launch update.
