Resident Evil Village Upcoming Update Announced, Here’s What’s Coming

Resident Evil Village Update 1.12

A surprise new Resident Evil Village upcoming update has just been announced. The update is adding several new accessibility options to the game for free and is coming alongside the Winters’ Expansion in October 2022.

The update is announced to add new toggles for the subtitles’ size, color, and background. It is also adding a permanent reticle, a Closed Captions option, and the speaker’s name in story mode.

The Resident Evil Village upcoming update is releasing for all users alongside the Winters’ Expansion DLC. The expansion is set to include new Mercenaries Additional Orders as well as the narrative-driven Shadows of Rose.

Here is a snippet of MP1st’s review of the game, which gave it an 8.5/10 score.

While I don’t believe that Village has the greatest story for a Resident Evil game, everything else about it helps makes it standout as one of the more worthier titles. With stellar combat, and a world that is easy to get lost in with it’s beauty, Village feels like a huge step for the franchise. I am a bit bum that there is no VR support like RE7, but this did allow the team to really give the game their all on a technical level. It feels like a true next-gen experience, even on the older systems. Plenty to love about Village, and with multiple playthroughs under my belt, I just don’t see how anyone can skip out on this gem. To me, this feels like the evolutionary step that Resident Evil 2 took from the first game, only for Resident Evil 7. The first-person perspective is proven, and here to stay for the long haul.

The new Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and the Winters’ Expansion are now available for pre-order. Both are releasing on October 28, 2022, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and Steam.
