Joining Backwater, revealed just last week, is another multiplayer map being introduced in Titanfall’s upcoming IMC Rising DLC, coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
“Inside an old IMC base hidden in the vast wilderness of the Dakota system, advanced IMC robotics research continues, despite the destruction of Hammond Robotics’ corporate headquarters on the Frontier. Until recently, the Militia knew the region only as the decommissioned ‘Zone 18’, the way it was labeled on stolen IMC maps provided by Barker. Now, picking up mysterious sensor readings from the area, the Militia deploys recon teams to investigate.”
According to the studio’s latest blog entry, Zone 18 is a fast-paced map sectioned off into two areas, divided by a central supply path. Titans will enjoy plenty of space in the middle path with cover offered by numerous ally ways. Pilots more adapt at close-quarter combat may stick to the interior passages, while those seeking long-ranged battles will want to station themselves on the buildings’ rooftops which all sit at a similar height.
The studio writes that Zone 18 was originally used to test Titanfall’s game mode Last Titan Standing with its basic mirrored layout. Some tweaking was required to make sure it fit all game modes for IMC Rising’s release. Now, Hardpoint locations, for example, are connected by underground pathways, giving Pilots the option to avoid Titans all together.
