Twisted Metal TV Show Trailer

If you liked HBO’s The Last of Us, there’s another Sony PlayStation game that’s set to air as a TV show soon and it’s none other than Twisted Metal! Airing on Peacock this July, check out the Twisted Metal TV show trailer.

Twisted Metal TV Show Plot Synopsis:

Synopsis: Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

As you can see in the trailer, the TV show stars Marvel Cinematic Universe mainstay Anthony Mackie, and Sweet Tooth seems to be confirmed as well. The series will debut on streaming platform Peacock this July 27.

For those not familiar with the vehicular racing franchise, it debuted back on the PS1 in 1995. It quickly rose to prominence as one of Sony’s first original IPs, though it’s been on hiatus ever since the last game simply titled “Twisted Metal” was released in 2012 on the PS3. While we are getting a TV show, a rumor surfaced back in 2021 that a revival of the game is in development at Lucid Games (Destruction AllStars).
