Xbox Gamers Getting Spam Messages From Console DMs
For those on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S who are suddenly getting a ton of spam messages in your console inbox (DMs), it’s not just you. It seems for whatever reason, spam has infiltrated the Xbox Live, and these things usually involve a scam of some kind.
Quite a number of people on social media have spoken out about this and even have screenshots to prove it:
Alright @Xbox, this is getting ridiculous pic.twitter.com/BT13XEgHNB

As you can see, it’s the same message sent by multiple profiles. Of course, players can choose to tweak their settings so that people not on their friends list can’t message them, but this shouldn’t be happening in the first place. For now, Xbox hasn’t issued any announcement regarding this, but we’re hoping one is on the way.
Needless to say, people should block and report these messages and accounts immediately since someone could get victimized. We’ve reached out to Microsoft and will update the story if we hear anything back.
