New Virtua Fighter Game In Development at RGG Studios

[summaraize]

Yakuza/Like A Dragon developers Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios have announced that they have begun working on a new Virtua Fighter game, with a very first look released during The Game Awards.

Virtua Fighter Is Back!

Not much about the project is known beyond this trailer, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios will be at the helm of the project, though SEGA did confirm that they will be hosting a Virtua Fighter Direct later tonight. You can watch the direct on Twitch and Youtube once it begins at 9 PM PT.

The last mainline Virtua Fighter game, Virtua Fighter 5, was released in 2006, with updated versions of the game and spinoffs released in the years to follow. The New Virtua Fighter Project will be the first, assumedly, mainline title in the series in nearly 18 years.

Warframe 1999 is Launching Tomorrow; Watch the Final Trailer Now

[summaraize]

We all knew that Warframe 1999 was slated to release this month, and thanks to an appearance during The Game Awards, we now have a release date. Guess what? It’s coming tomorrow!

The End is Just the Beginning, Warframe 1999 Final Trailer is Here

About Warframe 1999:

“Begin the next chapter of an epic, system-spanning Narrative with a spectacular new Quest set in the distant (and unfamiliar) past. Overrun with Techrot, the city-state of Höllvania has descended into chaos. An elite fighting unit of Protoframes called The Hex are actively hunting for Albrecht Entrati. And the militaristic Scaldra have deployed their forces to establish control. As the Drifter, you too are looking for Albrecht Entrati (as well the beguiling Man in the Wall). Take hold of your trusty Atomicycle and blaze a trail through Infested streets as you aid The Hex and search for answers, but don’t underestimate the ruthlessness of the Scaldra. In addition to The Hex Syndicate and Scaldra enemy faction, Warframe: 1999 also introduces our first-ever Romance & Relationship System, the 59th Warframe Cyte-09, a plethora of new Customizations and weaponry, Ability changes for Nyx and Trinity, and the new PvPvE game mode: Faceoff. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for the emergence of the Technocyte Coda (Infested Adversaries) in early 2025.”

Additional details on new content arriving in Warframe: 1999:

  • Travel back to an alternate version 1999 in an expansive single-player Quest and bond with the six Protoframe members of The Hex as they defend the city of Höllvania against the threat of two new enemy factions, the Scaldra army and Techrot infestation. Work together and track down the one responsible for their suffering, Dr. Entrati, before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve. Saddle up on the latest vehicle mount, the Atomicycle, capable of drifting, bullet-jumping, and even propelling itself into enemies to cause a huge explosion.
  • Scope out the enemy’s weaknesses as Cyte-09, the 59th Warframe. Place scanners to see and shoot enemies through walls, drop elemental ammo packs for yourself or allies, fall back and reposition with cloaking tech, or summon Cyte-09’s Exalted sniper rifle, Neutralizer, equipped with ricocheting bullets and a freezing grenade launcher. Expand your arsenal even further with two new weapons: the assault rifle, Reconifex, and the secondary pistol, Vesper 77.
  • Explore the new Höllvania City environment across four fresh mission types. Split eight players into two squads in an objective-based relay race in Faceoff, the first ever PvPvE game type for Warframe. Partner up with fan-favorite feline, Kalymos, in Legacyte Harvest to help her purge the Techrot and hunt for Legacytes. Clean the streets of Höllvania in Hell-Scrub by protecting the Hell-Scrubbers from Techrot corruption until it’s time for extraction. Take on the kill contract for a new major boss enemy in the H-09 Efervon Tank Assassanation.
  • Fight alongside and against a fresh cast of characters featuring renowned voice talent like Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI), Nick Apostolides (Resident Evil 4 Remake), and Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3). Send private chat messages with Protoframes on the K.I.M. console in a first-ever for Warframe, the relationship and romance system, to learn their backstories, deepest secrets, and maybe even spark a romance for the ages (or forge an everlong friendship).
  • Spend some time in the Höllvania Central Mall’s arcade and land a high score in Caliber Chicks 2, an original ‘90s-era run n’ gun side-scroller developed in partnership with Sumo Digital. Jillian and Lillian Killian are the acclaimed Caliber Chicks: Supreme Operatives of the Unified Kingdoms Defence Force and the only ones capable of defeating the evil Anna Ki and rescuing the kidnapped President.
  • Take in-game fashion to a higher level with a new tier of fully voiced and customizable cosmetics, Gemini Skins. Transmute Excalibur, Mag, Volt, Nyx, Trinity, and Cyte-09 into their Protoframe counterparts and vice-versa with a flashy transformation emote. Plus, customize the color of their hair, eyes, and gear.
  • New additions to the collaborative community artist program TennoGen will also arrive in Warframe: 1999. Bring back the ‘90s style for your Operator and Drifter with the Frame Friend Earring, Butterfly Wings Sunglasses, F19 Condroc Headphones, Millennium Visor Cap, or Choroid Eye Accessory.
  • Warframe: 1999 also brings various quality of life improvements, such as light reworks for Trinity and Nyx, increased capacity for weapon and Warframe slots, and the removal of Mastery Rank Test cooldowns on failed attempts.
  • Jam out to the most musically packed Warframe content to date, in and out of the game. Warframe: 1999’s soundtrack will be fully available on streaming platforms Friday, Dec. 13 as well as on a physical LP for sale in the Warframe Merch Store featuring hits like On-lyne’s “PARTY OF YOUR LIFETIME” and the Atomicycle theme “The Call”.

Warframe 1999 will be available for free on all platforms starting tomorrow. We’ll have a full list of changes that will accompany tomorrow’s patch, so stay tuned!

Tekken 8 Reveals Clive Rosfield From Final Fantasy 16; Early Access Next Week

[summaraize]

Clive Rosfield, the protagonist of Final Fantasy 16, is joining the Tekken 8 roster next week! Here’s our first look at the Dominant of the dark Eikon, Ifrit.

A Final Fantasy in the World of Tekken

I wasn’t expecting to see him as a guest character! For those who don’t know, Clive Rosfield will be the second Final Fantasy character to appear in a Tekken game, with Noctis Lucis Caelum (Final Fantasy 15) being a playable DLC in Tekken 7.

About Clive Rosfield DLC:

“In addition to Clive Rosfield, the new battle stage PHOENIX GATE is also introduced in TEKKEN 8, a pivotal location from FINAL FANTASY XVI where tragic events reshaped the destiny of the game’s main character. The stage’s destruction, brought to life through Eikons and stunning special effects, mirrors key moments of his journey to confront his past.

Clive Rosfield and the PHOENIX GATE battle stage will be available for players that have the Deluxe, Ultimate Edition, or Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack, which contains Playable Character Year 1 Pass. Both are also purchasable separately or as a bundle.”

Clive Rosfield will be available starting December 16 for Season pass holders, with his standalone purchase releasing a little later. A patch should go live shortly before release and include fighter adjustments, bug fixes, and other general improvements. As always, we’ll have the full patch notes here once they’ve gone live.

[summaraize]

Three years after the release of It Takes Two, Hazelight Studios is back again with another exciting brand-new IP! Welcome to the world of Split Fiction, a new cooperative adventure game that has you hopping between alternative universes.

Hazelight Studios Returns With A New Cooperative Adventure

As reported back in October, Hazelight Studios has officially announced Split Fiction. Published under the EA Originals banner, Split Fiction, much like the studio’s past titles, It Takes Two and A Way Out, will be a cooperative adventure game that sees players jumping through a collection of universes, from sci-fi to fantasy to even a universe where you’re a hotdog. Here’s the debut trailer for Split Fiction.

About Split Fiction:

“Jump into mind-blowing moments and experience the many worlds of Split Fiction™, a boundary-pushing co-op adventure from the studio behind It Takes Two. Master a variety of abilities and overcome diverse challenges while jumping between sci-fi and fantasy worlds!”

For those wondering, Split Fiction will support Friend’s Pass, meaning as long as you own the game, you can invite a friend to play with you, even if they don’t own the game.

Split Fiction will be released on March 6, assumedly for current-gen consoles and PC.

Elden Ring Nightreign, a Standalone Survival Game, Announced for 2025

[summaraize]

Despite just releasing DLC for Elden Ring this year, it seems that FromSoftware is not done with the series, as they’ve just announced a brand-new standalone experience dubbed Elden Ring Nightreign. Here’s our first look at the upcoming survival game.

Not A Sequel, Now DLC, But a Whole New Standalone Elden Ring Experience

Being marked as a cooperative survival game with action more akin to Monster Hunters, here’s your first look at Elden Ring Nightreign.

Updated with press release information:

“Players take on the night together in an all-new experience from the team at FromSoftware. ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN will be a multiplayer-focused return to Roundtable Hold, set in a universe parallel to the events of ELDEN RING. Players must choose from eight unique characters, each with their own unique abilities and powerful Ultimates. Their journeys take them to Limveld, an ever-changing map, where they will have to make split-second decisions when it comes to combat and exploration in the face of a night cycle that shrinks the map with the coming Night’s Tide. At the end of each night, players will face a powerful boss and, if victorious, awaken to bigger challenges. Each session will culminate in the third night when they must face off against the chosen Nightlord. Individuals can fight the night alone, but strength will come in numbers. Nightfarers must learn to cooperate to take down these challenges, combining their unique abilities together for an unparalleled experience in the ELDEN RING universe.  All is not lost for those who fall in defeat. Unsuccessful runs will grant players relics to allow them to customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles.

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is unlike any experience created before by FromSoftware, Inc. In this condensed action RPG, players will never experience the same journey twice as enemies, rewards, and Limveld itself are ever-shifting and evolving each session. Defeating greater enemies and venturing into the more dangerous parts of the map will uncover more powerful weapons and greater Rune rewards. Find Sites of Grace to give each hero a chance to level up and gain crucial power. With each session-based adventure being akin to playing through an open-air dungeon, every journey provides an opportunity to grow lasting stat bonuses. Successful runs against the night bring players ever closer to defeating the Nightlord and unraveling the story behind each Nightfarer in this parallel world. “

Aside from being marketed more as a cooperative experience with survival aspects, little is known about the title when it comes to the story. There’s no release date, though we do know from the ending of the trailer that Elden Rign Nightreign will be a cross-gen title, meaning it’s coming to PS4, as well as current-gen platforms, the PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and of course, PC. It’s targeting a 2025 release window.

The Witcher 4 Officially Revealed With an Amazing Cinematic Trailer

[summaraize]

CD Projekt RED shocked the world today, as it unveiled our first official look at The Witcher 4 at The Game Awards.. While there ‘s no gameplay in it, the cinematic trailer is a sight to behold.

Check out our first official look at The Witcher 4:

Check out the first info straight from CDPR’s press release:

  • The nearly six-minute trailer offers a first look at Ciri as the protagonist she takes on a witcher contract in a remote village terrorized for generations by a monster demanding ritual sacrifice.
  • The Witcher IV is being developed using customized Unreal Engine 5 technology; the cinematic trailer is pre-rendered in a custom build of Unreal Engine 5 on an unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU.
  • A follow-up to one of the most acclaimed RPGs of all time, The Witcher IV aims to be the most immersive and ambitious open-world Witcher game to date.

As you can see, it’ll be Ciri headlining the game, though it’s said that Geralt will appear in the game in some form, which is something the voice actor said he got “slapped” by CDPR for since he revealed it prematurely.

No release date was given for The Witcher 4, and we suspect it won’t be out for at least a few more years given the game just entered full production recently,.

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound Revealed; Out in Summer 2025

[summaraize]

At The Game Awards, Koei Tecmo, in tandem with Dotemu, revealed a new Ninja Gaiden game titled “Ninja Gaiden Ragebound.” We get a gameplay trailer alongside the reveal, and it looks bloody fun!

In development by The Game Kitchen (Blasphemous 2), the game is a 2D side-scroller, though one that’s juiced up. Don’t believe me? Check out the gameplay clip:

From the acclaimed team behind Blasphemous, NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound successfully unites the classic lore and gameplay of the Tecmo-developed (now KOEI TECMO GAMES) NINJA GAIDEN series from the 8-bit era with the depth and intensity of the modern 3D entries. The best of both eras come together to create an epic and thrilling adventure.

Our story begins when Ryu Hayabusa journeys to America to honor his father’s will. While he is away, the barrier between the human and the demon worlds suddenly shatters, unleashing a terrifying army upon the Hayabusa Village, which now faces an unprecedented threat in Ryu’s absence. To stand against this new threat, Kenji Mozu, a young ninja from the Hayabusa Village, rises to the challenge!

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is set for release sometime in Summer 2025. While no platforms have been announced, I’m assuming it’ll be on consoles and PC.

We’ll have more on the new Ninja Gaiden game once more info is available .

    • Lobby visibility and Quickjoin bonuses were removed in favor of a new “human players“ bonus awarded after finishing a mission with additional human players on the team (20-30%).
    • The applied bonuses are now listed on the mission debrief screen.
  • Horde mode tweaks
    • New enemies are spawning in addition to the original ones. (white coat ranged enemies)
    • There are presents of various contents to be found in the mission.
    • Rebalance of health and health regeneration upgrades.
    • The pool of weapons is changed. Some weapons (Chopper e.g.) were removed from the pool and more weapons were added.

    • Improved Butcher
      • Butcher has a new (secondary) melee attack. (cleaver)
      • Improved Butcher’s pose when chain saw is destroyed.
    • Bots should pick up dropped bags and should not drop the bags if they are too far away from the player.
    • Bots have improved the use of covers.
    • Shielder’s glass window absorbs damage as it should and then breaks. (the window was without reinforced glass in-store version)
    • Hitting a shield with a weapon without penetration doesn’t produce hit marks.
  • Detection meter improvement:
    • Very small detection values and very slow detection speed are ignored.
    • Detection correctly follows enemy animation. (turning the head…)
    • Minor detection tweaks for a better experience.
  • Significantly increased variety of weapons available to the player’s army (all 3 tiers)

  • Practical:
    • Increased quality of the basic version. (uncommon->rare)
    • Slightly slower rate of fire.
    • Slightly lowered range.
    • The elite version received a buff.
  • 12 Gauge has increased damage and range.
  • The current turf war strategy of individual gangs is now displayed on their boss tab. This shows if their approach is more aggressive or passive, along with special cases tied to storylines.
  • “Strong Arm Dollar Dragon for Money” goal was added as an alternative to the same ones for Hielo and Khan.
  • The remaining days of a truce are now displayed for Baker’s relationships in the overview on the map.
  • Sheriff’s overview on the map now displays when any temporary heat or investigation effect is active (such as him postponing investigation during Cagnali’s Order, or halted heat growth after escaping the police ambush event).
  • The majority of trade missions in the campaign (e.g., upgrade the drill) now have an alternative payment option with loot.
  • Standalone plotlines now begin with a certain amount of relevant loot in the stash to make alternative loot payments within the plotline slightly easier to reach.
  • Missions now display the actual loot found in the mission (if known) instead of a list of possibilities.
  • Secret Symphony urban legend now offers Mozart as a playable character after his rescue.
  • The basic and upgraded drills and buzzsaws now have different names on the display screen to distinguish between them.
  • The Black Market in the campaign now has a limit for the number of weapons generated with weapon skins in one batch to prevent creating a lot of similar-looking weapons early on.

Fixes:

  • Selling tiny amounts of loot from stash should now be accurate to the dollar, instead of often being slightly off.
  • The goal task text in “Interfere with investigation” urged you to kill your target when the mission is, in fact, a rescue.
  • Loot types that didn’t fall into one of the supported Stash categories were displayed in the overview but couldn’t be sold. Now new loot from unsupported categories is automatically converted to cash.
  • Updated a few loading tips that were no longer valid.
  • Khan correctly switches to the ‘Conqueror’ strategy (multiple attacks per day) after getting Dragon Dogs.
  • Certain boss office assets should no longer levitate if the cabinet below them hasn’t yet been purchased. They’re now initially supported by a bookcase.
  • Lamp boss office assets should no longer overlap in some cases.
  • The “NEW” indicator now disappears when you see the first level of a perk, you no longer must preview all levels on the progression screen.
  • The drill upgrade in “The Hidden Vault” should now be correctly applied even if purchased after the big heist has already appeared on the map.
  • New cutscenes and plotlines should no longer appear just before the campaign end screen.
  • Taking Baker to a mission should no longer display a warning every playthrough. Once is enough.
  • “Hit on Repair Shop” in the campaign didn’t have a bonus objective assigned, so it wasn’t possible to complete the mission with 3 stars.

That’s all for today’s update, now get out there and start heisting!

Behemoth Update 1.003 Addresses Several Known Issues That Players Were Having at Launch

Progression Blocker Fixes

  • Kragjaeger, Dodstreng, and Lognbryter should no longer go missing when transitioning levels
  • Shacklehide’s Cradle – The gate leading to the combat room should no longer be closed before entering the area
  • The Hollow King – Players should no longer get stuck in or repeat Phase 1
  • Players should now be able to Fast Travel after the end of the campaign to continue their post-game collection

Combat Updates

Tuning changes:

  • Player dodge is more forgiving with additional i-frames for a total 0.5 seconds invulnerability
  • Enemy dodge/side-step has been disabled (for now…)
  • Exposed headshots on standard enemies should now be 1-hit kills (minibosses can still take more than 1 strike to the head, depending on their remaining health)
  • 2-handed weapons feel has been greatly improved
  • Block and Parry – Weapon angle for successful parries and blocks has been increased (Forgiveness Angle is based on how “perpendicular” the players weapon is in relation to the incoming attack)

Combat Stamina Drain

  • Tuned across all difficulty modes, using Kragjaeger and minimum stamina bar as baseline
  • 5 swings with Kragjaeger red-lines you without sending you into winded
  • 3 combo attack, followed by a throw will redline you without you going over
  • Reduced throw stamina cost so 4 successive throws with Kragjaeger will wind you (increased from 2)
  • Removed the stamina penalty for player attacks that are blocked by the enemy by hitting their shield, weapon or helmet
  • Stamina Loss Multipliers are tuned by difficulty level
  • Tenderfoot has 0.35x combat multiplier, 0.5x non-combat multiplier
  • Standard has the baseline values
  • Barbarian has 1.25x multiplier across combat and non-combat
  • Stamina drain during climbing is unchanged

Freestyle Mode (BETA)

  • Players can enable fractional Combat Stamina, allowing them to hack and slash until they can’t physically swing anymore
  • This can be toggled on/off via Options Menu > Gameplay > Stamina Mode (BETA)
  • Achievements / Trophies are disabled when Freestyle mode is enabled; we are still testing how this affects combat balance and progression
  • Stamina drain during climbing is unchanged

Additional:

  • Tenderfoot game difficulty has received additional adjustments to reduce damage from enemy attacks
  • Parry tutorial Marauder’s health has been increased and attack damaged decreased, to give players more opportunities to master the art
  • Text for Parry and Block tutorials have been updated to be more specific and instructive
  • Herbs are faster to eat and recover health at increased rate
  • Feral archers attack damage has been reduced

Miniboss Tuning Updates

  • Sora Ortel
  • Reducing homing distance while attacking
  • Reduced overall damage

Sora Vrisak

  • Should no longer spawn in the ceiling and fall to her death (even if it was occasionally funny)
Dagger attack damage has been reduced

Pale Archer

  • The Pale Archer should no longer turn invisible

General Ludovic

  • Shield bash attack will no longer one-shot players who are at full health. It’s still plenty deadly, however. Increased i-frames on your dodge should help with avoiding that!

King Ragnar

  • Increased health
  • Increased attack rate

Level Updates

  • Shacklehide opening scene should no longer replay when the player revisits the arena after already defeating this Behemoth
  • Players should no longer take massive damage when touching Shacklehide’s feet, but players should still stay alert!
  • Zephyr’s Pass – Spikes have been moved to the side of the room to help mitigate enemy self destruction on Spike Wall
  • Duskhold – The Lever puzzle should no longer cause the door to not open
  • The chest after the Pale Archer should be easier to open
  • Throne Room – Replaced extra Health upgrade with the proper Stamina Upgrade

Miscellanea

  • Trophy Room Collectibles – Seems like the Trapper cleaned up while you were away. All statues have been moved to their wall inventory slots for now. We’ll continue working on this area in future updates. For the time being, if you rearrange collectibles, they will go back to their inventory slots when you leave and return
  • Health and Stamina points should show correctly when the scroll is first opened
  • Medicine pouches outside of the Trapper’s cell should no longer float
  • Tooltip for changing your difficulty at the start of the game should no longer pop up
  • Game version watermark should properly be shown on the Main menu
  • Many visual popping issues have been resolved
  • Various music streaming improvements
  • Various VO lines should no longer overlap
  • Various lighting issues have been resolved
  • Various crash fixes have significantly improved stability across all platforms

Behemoth is now available to purchase on the Quest and PlayStation Store, along with the PCVR version via Steam.

Delta Force Review – Fast, Fun, Free

[summaraize]

Delta Force is a very old franchise. With its initial launch in 1998, the original game helped to usher in a glorious era of high-profile, tactical first-person shooters that felt so real, especially compared to games like Goldeneye or Perfect Dark which were also popular at the time. But 15 years have passed since the last entry release of Delta Force Xtreme 2, and the demands placed upon any shooter by today’s fans are extremely high. Can developer Team Jade successfully resurrect this ancient franchise? We went hands-on with Delta Force, and have our review ready.

It’s a Military Shooter Alright

Graphically, Delta Force looks up to snuff with any other first-person shooter out there. But to be honest, it’s difficult to tell this game apart from any other military shooter. A familiar setting mixed with modern weaponry makes for a game that struggles to carve out any sort of identifying look and feel. It’s not the first game to go for the hyper-realistic look, and it certainly won’t be the last. Since this series is grounded in reality, it’s a tough nut to crack. Team Jade thinks their specialized operators will do the trick.

Each Operator has their own name, personal history, and some gear: specifically, one piece of tactical gear, two gadgets, and a passive trait that helps the player make the most of the Operator. One of the more interesting, yet under-utilized, Operator is Stinger. A Support-class soldier, you heal teammates by shooting them with a “therapeutic pistol,” which is perhaps unintentionally hilarious. But this Operator also has various smokescreen gadgets, which is a must if you intend on reviving a lot of teammates while under fire.

One of the key aspects to Delta Force, besides the legacy of the older games, is its price: free. Or as my father-in-law likes to say, “free-99.” It’s completely free to download and play, and will be arriving as such on Steam (which is where we played for this review), current and last-gen consoles (minus the Switch), and even mobile (both iOS and Android). Of course, releasing a free product is usually not a viable business plan, so there will be premium content in the form of cosmetics and a battle pass. Pretty standard stuff for a freemium game these days.

Low-Spec Hardware Requirements

Perhaps because Team Jade targeted some mobile platforms, the minimum specs to run Delta Force are not very high: a Core i3 (4th gen) or AMD FX 6-series processor with 8GB of RAM and a GTX 660, AMD HD7870, or Arc A380 or better GPU is all that’s required. We’re not sure what the game looks like with those specs, but it’s probably not great. Still, it’ll run, and for some people that’ll be enough.

During our time with the open beta, we played the only two main game modes available to us: Warfare and Operations. A campaign based on the Black Hawk Down movie wasn’t ready by the time of publication, with an estimated release date of January 2025. Warfare is the larger of the two modes, with two teams of 32 players each fighting against each other. Attackers have limited time and respawn tickets with which they must attempt to capture all indicated spots on the map. This mode felt a bit like Battlefield, with a lot of players opting to drive or fly the many vehicles on offer, and some squading up together. As with any tactical shooter, the more communicative your squad, the better you fare. Ultimately, this mode was the most hectic but also fun as you could hop from role to role in between deaths. Win or lose, each match featured intense firefights, sniping wars, vehicular destruction, and other hallmarks of war games.

Shoot, Loot, Scoot

Operations, meanwhile, sported smaller teams fighting to take their share of loot scattered throughout the map. This mode turned Delta Force into an extraction shooter, along with a roguelike mechanic whereby if you were defeated, you lost everything you equipped for that battle, with the exception of one small portion of your inventory. While most of that stuff was simply ammunition and health packs, even weapons were not spared this fate. Losing doesn’t mean you’re left with nothing, however, as you still gain experience, not only for your operator, but also any weapons you used. A starter pack of equipment was also granted following each defeat, so you’re not truly starting from scratch after each loss. Since the ultimate goal was to extract with any loot you’ve grabbed, sometimes it made sense to not engage with other enemy players (or even enemy AI), in the hopes that they’d run by, and you and your team could continue to advance towards the next objective while conserving your limited resources. As in real life, picking and choosing your battles could mean the difference between success and failure. Operations is an intriguing mode that holds the most potential for Delta Force.

Between fights, the Black Site serves as a hub where upgrades and customizations can be applied. After you modify any weapon, you are prompted to calibrate it, and can freely test it out in a firing range. The calibration lets you dig into various components of each of Delta Forces’ handful of weapons – Team Jade went with quality over quantity when it comes to weapon count. But each weapon has been painstakingly replicated, with multiple parts you can unlock by leveling them up. You can adjust things like grip position, sight type, stock length, and more, each of which have knobs to move and an instant update of what aspect of the weapon will be affected, such as aim-down-sight speed, and by what amount. For those who love customizing their loadouts, this is the place to be.

Verdict

Delta Force is a pure military shooter, with little to no fluff, and in-depth weapon mechanics that some may enjoy tweaking to their heart’s content. Having said that, the few (two) game modes currently available feels incredibly limiting. On the other hand, with an obvious nod towards mobile development, the focus on a couple of game modes ensures finding a match will usually be a quick process. With a current user review average of “Mixed” on Steam, the holiday season will likely be a “make or break” moment for Team Jade. But if you have any interest in a new take on team-based FPS action, then this free game’s entry price cannot be beat.

Score: 8/10

Pros:

  • Solid, if derivative, look and feel
  • Decent matchmaking times due to a focus on few game modes
  • Plenty to tweak on each expertly-detailed weapon
  • Free!

Cons:

  • Not many game modes yet
  • Hard to distinguish from other military shooters

Lords of the Fallen Patch 1.061 for Version 1.7; Brings Quality-of-Life Enhancements

[summaraize]

HexWorks has surprised us once again by delivering a significant update to Lords of the Fallen today, and it’s out now on all platforms. This will show up as Lords of the Fallen patch 1.061 for console owners (version 1.061.000 on your PS5 update history), and this brings quality-of-life improvements and more.

Aside from QoL features, this also adjusts combat to make it more fluid, New Game+ adjustments have been made as well based on community feedback.

Lords of the Fallen Patch 1.061 Continues HexWorks’ Excellent Post-Release Support

Combat & Character Control

Based on ongoing community feedback and rigorous testing, we’ve made a notable upgrade to the combat system to improve character control, fluidity, and responsiveness. These changes are designed to lower the entry barrier for new players while raising the skill ceiling for more experienced Lampbearers, offering greater accuracy and character handling.

Roll Distance
Roll distance has been refined for greater player control and predictability, making evading attacks in response to perceived weapon range more effective and intuitive

Recalibrated Stamina
Stamina depletion has been recalibrated across the board to allow for more fluid and responsive character control both in and out of combat

Dodge/Animation Cancellation
The dodge/animation cancellation window has been improved to allow for more responsive, satisfying and accurate evasion.

Grievous Strike Button Prompt
Some players found it challenging to recognize when an enemy was vulnerable to a Grievous Strike. We’ve addressed this by adding an optional setting that provides a button prompt (R1, RB) when a Grievous Strike is available. This will be on by default but can be turned off in the menu.

Quality of Life Enhancements

Quick Item Selector
Based on player feedback, we’ve added an option to control whether newly acquired consumable items automatically populate your Quick Access bar or not, giving you more flexibility in how you manage your inventory.

Automatic Vigor Pickup Toggle
Last week, we introduced automatic Vigor collection – a highly requested feature since launch. While the majority embraced this change, others have commented how this certain feature was unique and nuanced to the essence of Lords of the Fallen, providing an altogether more immersive experience. To accommodate all playstyles, we’ve added a toggle in the gameplay settings in the menu that lets you enable or disable automatic Vigor pickup based on your preference.

Gerlinde Update
Gerlinde, the blacksmith, is an invaluable ally, but some players were missing her entirely, thereby missing the ability to upgrade weapons and purchase certain weapon runes. To address this:
If players fail to find Gerlinde early on, she will now automatically move to Skyrest Bridge after players reach Forsaken Fen, ensuring she is always accessible.
Players who locate Gerlinde in her initial holding cell can now make use of her services immediately, in order to avoid unnecessary backtracking to Skyrest Bridge. She will return to Skyrest Bridge afterwards.
Additionally, completing her quest and seeing her move to Skyrest Bridge rewards players with three small upgrade materials.

Gameplay Fairness

Enemy Attack Ranges & Tracking
Following the positive feedback to last week’s adjustments to enemy attack ranges and tracking, we’ve expanded these changes to additional enemies. Previously, certain enemies exhibited unrealistic attack distances or mid-air tracking that disrupted immersion and enemy credibility. This week, we’ve applied similar tweaks to some other enemies to ensure combat feels both fair and immersive while maintaining the intended level of challenge.

NG+ Adjustments
We’ve made another round of NG+ difficulty adjustments in response to your feedback. As always, let us know if it feels right for you.

Grievous Strike Damage
We’ve increased the damage output of Grievous Strikes against normal enemies to make these moments feel more rewarding and impactful, enhancing the satisfaction of combat.

New Player Experience

NPC Beckon Adjustments
Based on your community feedback, we’ve made slight adjustments to the NPCs’ stats to make them more viable in boss fights.

*We’re pleased to see the excitement among the community about NPC Beckons being available from the start! This feature is in its final testing phase, and we’re dedicated to making sure it delivers an exceptional experience. We can’t wait to share it with you once it’s ready!

Damarose Positioning
Damarose’s position has been slightly adjusted, moving her closer to the Golden Path to ensure players are more likely to encounter her in the first location.

Doggo NPC Beckon
Great news for all the ‘good boy’ fans out there! You can now beckon the Hallowed Sentinel Hound as an NPC helper during boss fights. Simply defeat Gentle Gaverus, Mistress of Hounds, and give the murderous pup in Skyrest Bridge a pat on the head to activate this option. The Hound also comes with a special ability to heal you by barking when your health is low, though this helpful action comes with a long cooldown.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a rare bug that could cause players to lose their Vigor after dying, such as during the final battle with Adyr.
  • Resolved an issue where the in-game music player would fail to play.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the music to stop functioning during the boss encounter with Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight.

We want to say that this is the game’s last patch of the year, but we’ve been wrong multiple times on that front. Once HexWorks releases another patch, expect it here on MP1st.

  • Made a range of quality-of-life improvements to game audio and commentary.
  • Made performance optimisations to custom characters.
  • Fixed an issue that meant players that quit out of online games on PlayStation weren’t being punished, and the win was not being correctly awarded to the remaining player. This now works as expected.
  • Many other bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

Once Steel City releases another patch, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
