GUNNAR Optiks Cyberpunk 2077 Militech Review – Corporate Style
GUNNAR Optiks is back with yet another collaboration with CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, aiming to capture the spirit of a futuristic world where technology, style, and functionality collide with modern-day apparel. There’s only one faction in Cyberpunk 2077 that knows all about the latest tech, and that’s Militech, which is why they’re the focus of GUNNAR’s latest collaboration.

Hi-Tech Glasses Will Make You Ready for Any Job
GUNNAR Optiks’ second Cyberpunk 2077 collaborative glasses are now out, and while they aren’t entirely based on a specific character, much like their previous DEX lenses (review), they do take plenty of inspiration from Militech’s unmistakable corporate-military aesthetic. From the sleek, industrial design to the subtle Cyberpunk 2077 branding, these glasses feel like something that could genuinely belong in Night City without looking like you’re wearing a piece of cosplay.
Mind, they do come off more as sportswear, which would probably be a better-suited purpose in terms of fashion, but nonetheless, there’s something appealing about that aesthetic. They’re sleek, aggressive, and futuristic without being overly flashy, making them easy to pair with more casual outfits while still giving off that unmistakable Militech vibe. In other words, you don’t need to be gearing up for a corporate extraction to pull these off.
There are a few cool design choices here that GUNNAR used to make these glasses stand out more, and similar ones, too. For one, the color scheme and framing. It’s a mix of black and neon green (or is it more yellow?), with the neon green being applied to hinges and markings to make them stand out. There’s a small cutout hole on each temple that, while it doesn’t really have any use, does look cool and brings out the hard edge leading into the hinges. The framing is a soft, matte plastic with a bit of flexibility.
The lenses are two, rather than one (DEX feature one), this time around, and I love what GUNNAR has done with the bridge portion of the frame. It runs along the top, then cuts out a bit where the lenses are, creating a black-and-amber pattern. The nose pads are rubberized, with soft patterns that aren’t even noticeable while wearing.
The lenses have a unique shape, mixing hard edges and curves that make them pop out more.
In terms of fit, I think these might be their most comfortable collaboration sets we’ve tested thus far. The weight of the glasses feels right, and the way the nose pads are positioned and designed helps distribute the weight evenly. Were it not for the protective tint that helps block blue light (something I personally feel has helped lower my eye strain), I wouldn’t even notice I’m wearing them.
To support the overall Militech theme, in addition to the soft cloth carry pouch that most GUNNAR lenses come with and the themed clothing cloth, the Militech glasses also come with a hard case that looks and feels like some sort of armory crate. It’s bulky, made of hard plastic, and themed after Militech with their color scheme and logo. I think it’s a cool-looking case that further drives home the Cyberpunk 2077 militaristic aesthetic GUNNAR is going for.
For an MSRP of $99, the GUNNAR Optiks Cyberpunk 2077 Militech glasses feel like a pretty solid value, especially for fans of the franchise who want something that represents the game without going full-on cosplay. The Militech-inspired design is subtle enough for everyday wear, while the comfortable fit, blue-light filtering lenses, and surprisingly cool armory-style case give the package a little more personality than your standard pair of gaming glasses.
GUNNAR’s attention to detail to keep things feeling faithful to a gaming universe continues on, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store next for the Cyberpunk universe. Hopefully we get to see the rest of the factions dropping soon.
