Battlefield 6 Weapon and Player Progression Update Now Live, Attachment Ranks Reduced

That was very, very fast! Following an announcement earlier today that weapon and player progression are getting buffed in Battlefield 6 in order to make the grind easier, that change is now live! The server-side update has been applied to all platforms, and this means ranking up, unlocking attachments are now much, much faster.

The change also makes acquiring items via Assignments much easier, as the ranks for a bunch of these have been lowered.

Note that this is a server-side update, so no download is required. Players will see the changes applied once they connect to the game’s servers.

Battlefield 6 XP Progression for Weapons and Ranks Updated on October 17

Here are the changes players will see take effect starting today, according to DICE:

  • Match Completion XP per min increased by 10%
  • XP from Daily Challenges increased by 40%
  • The XP needed to unlock the first 20 Attachment Ranks has been reduced.
    🔸Please Note: For weapons that are already being progressed, the UI might display something inaccurate at first; this will resolve once a match has been played with that weapon.
  • Assignments requiring Career Ranks 20, 23, and 26 to begin will now require Career Ranks 10, 15, and 20, respectively.

This means that the next update (server or client side) will usher in the Battlefield Portal changes. Even with that applied, there are also changes coming to weapon bloom, which we’re excited to see as well. Of course, outside of gameplay-related fixes, there are also bugs that have yet to be resolved, which the devs have outlined previously.

In other Battlefield news, in case you haven’t heard about it, BF6 is now the biggest launch in franchise history, as the game managed to hit seven million in unit sales in the first three days of availability.
