Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles New Update Applies Balance Changes via Patch 1.030/1.03
Square Enix has released the first post-release update for Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, and it applies more than just bug fixes.
Console gamers will see the download appear as Final Fantasy: The Ivalice Chronicles update 1.03/1.030 (complete ver. 1.030.000), and this should be a small download across all platforms.
Expect fixes to both the enhanced and classic versions of the tactical RPG.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles Update on Oct. 29 Applies Fixes via Version 1.03/1.030
Here’s what’s new per Square Enix:
Enhanced
- Game balance for certain battles when playing in Squire mode has been adjusted.
- Certain sound effects have been adjusted.
- Other minor issues have been resolved.
Classic
- An error that affected errand reports has been resolved.
- Certain sound effects have been adjusted.
That’s about it. Honestly, we’re not expecting any patches for the game at all, save for a fix for anything game-breaking, which the game doesn’t have.
We’re not expecting any new content either, as the game is pretty much a one-and-done affair. If you’ve yet to play it, check out our review where we state, “Final Fantasy Tactics was already a stellar game with one of the best and most riveting stories in the entire franchise, even underrated a bit perhaps due to the genre for mainstream audiences at the time of original release, and now players are getting a chance to play it again with some major quality of life changes to make the experience better.”
