MAJOR BUG FIXES AND ADJUSTMENTS
GAMEPLAY
- Your constructs are less likely to break unexpectedly. We’re continuing to work on this issue, especially when it comes to constructs inside caves.
- Wheel attachments will no longer teleport and damage constructs.
- Players will no longer teleport as a result of getting up from a chair.
- Villagers assigned to the Loom will no longer give incorrect resources.
- Villagers following you can now follow you on stairs!
STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE
- Crashes are less likely when you’re exiting caves.
- General crashes are less likely.

2024 FNCS MAJOR 2
2024 FNCS Major 2 kicks off during Chapter 5 Season 2! Grab your Duos partner and prepare for the Open Qualifiers happening from April 12 to April 21. More details on 2024 FNCS Major 2 will be shared on our official Fortnite Competitive social channels.
RANKED CUPS
In Chapter 5 Season 2’s Ranked Cups, players will have the opportunity to play Solo, Duos, or Squads against other competitors of the same rank pool, in both Battle Royale and Zero Build. For the Duos and Squads competitions, we are opening up the option to queue as a Solo Fill player so you can be matchmade with other Solo Fill players.
Play at least six matches in any Ranked Cup to earn the Bolt of Light Loading Screen. Earn at least 25 points to earn the Chain of Stars Loading Screen, 50 points to earn the Constellation’s Wings Loading Screen, and 75 points to earn the Pantheon Ranker Glider! This Glider will reflect the rank of the Ranked Cup you participated in at the time, so as you Rank up, you will need to play another Ranked Cup to upgrade your Glider to your current Rank.

CASH CUPS
Battle Royale Duos Cash Cups are back for this Season! Team up with your Duos partner in these Cups and engage in two rounds of intense Battle Royale competition. Stay updated on the Duos Cash Cups schedule in the “Compete” tab in-game.
To participate in the Cash Cups, you must be at least Gold I rank in Ranked Battle Royale.
VICTORY CASH CUPS
Victory Cash Cups await in Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 2 for Solo Battle Royale and Duos Zero Build. After qualifying for Round 2, you’ll earn a cash prize with every Victory Royale obtained during that round!
You can find the schedule for Victory Cash Cups in the “Compete” tab in-game. Victory Cash Cups will require you to be at least Gold I in Ranked Battle Royale or Ranked Zero Build (depending on whether you’re competing in the Solo Victory Cash Cup or Duos Zero Build Victory Cash Cup).
CONSOLE CASH CUP
Console players! In Chapter 5 Season 2, call your Duos partner and drop into up to four Duos Console Cash Cups. These Duos Console Cash Cups will only be available for players competing on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The Cups will be in a two-round format — qualify for Round 2 for an opportunity to earn cash prizes!
The Console Cash Cup will be a Battle Royale competition, and the rank requirement will be at least Platinum I in Ranked Battle Royale.
PLAYSTATION CUPS
PlayStation players! Compete in the Fortnite PlayStation Cups from May 31 through June 15, 2024. There’s a Battle Royale edition and Zero Build edition, both being Solo tournaments. See below for the dates of each Qualifier and Finals!
- March 15 – Zero Build PlayStation Cup Qualifier 1
- March 16 – Battle Royale PlayStation Cup Qualifier 1
- March 22 – Zero Build PlayStation Cup Qualifier 2
- March 23 – Battle Royale PlayStation Cup Qualifier 2
- March 29 – Zero Build PlayStation Cup Finals
- March 30 – Battle Royale PlayStation Cup Finals
The top 50 highest-scoring players from each Qualifier Cup will qualify for either the Zero Build Finals happening March 29, or the Battle Royale Finals happening March 30 (depending on if they qualified in Battle Royale or Zero Build). Players in both Finals will compete for a share of $250,100!
Whether or not you make it to the Finals, you can get an in-game reward in the Qualifiers! Players who earn at least 25 points in one of the Qualifiers will earn the Ghoul Popsicle Spray:
The PlayStation Cups will require you to be at least Bronze I in Ranked Battle Royale or Ranked Zero Build, depending on whether you’re competing in the Battle Royale or Zero Build Cup.
WOMEN OF THE ERENA FEATURING FORTNITE
Women of the erena (WOTE) Featuring Fortnite returns in Chapter 5 Season 2. This all-women competition is an invitational qualifier series featuring 44 Duos battling in both Battle Royale and Zero Build for a share of a $75,000 prize pool.
Watch who will become the Fortnite Champions of the erena on erena’s Twitch channel. Dates and times below:

- March 16 @ 4:30 PM ET – Qualifier 2

Pandora’s Box has been opened on the Fortnite Battle Royale Island, bringing Olympus to the battlefield. Olympian legends — including Hades and the thunder god Zeus — now rule the Island in otherworldly rage. To make matters worse, they’ve brought their powers and weapons with them. Use their mythological means against them in Chapter 5 Season 2: Myths & Mortals!
LEGENDARY LOCATIONS
MOUNT OLYMPUS
You can’t have Olympus without Mount Olympus. Home of Zeus, you’ll always feel like you’re being watched with the grand monument that graces this great mountain.
GRIM GATE
To get to “The Underworld,” one way to get there is crossing the river at Grim Gate… where the three-headed guard dog Cerberus awaits. Venture to the west of the Island to confront these canines!
THE UNDERWORLD
Past the hounds is the home of Hades: The Underworld. Despite its flowing streams, the land of this city is almost completely dried up.
BRAWLER’S BATTLEGROUND
The god of war, Ares always welcomes a battle. Take him up on his challenge in the Brawler’s Battleground arena south of Mount Olympus. (Oh yeah, Ares will be the Outfit of the April 2024 Crew Pack!)
These are just some of the locations the gods brought to the Island. However, don’t forget what else they’ve brought with them…
CHAOS UPON THE LAND
The gods descended with their powers and weapons, but that doesn’t mean your next battle has to end in tragedy. Make your next battle a myth to remember by using them for yourself!
THUNDERBOLT OF ZEUS
Become a Storm of your own. With the Thunderbolt of Zeus, you can rise into the air and hurl lightning bolts at your target! Use this power wisely though, as the Thunderbolt of Zeus has three maximum charges with a cooldown between each one. How to wield this electricity? Pick up this Mythic power across the Island or by defeating Zeus himself.
GATEKEEPER SHOTGUN
Forged by Hephaestus for Cerberus, the Gatekeeper Shotgun can quickly fire three aggressive rounds. This Shotgun is best at short range, so hit all three shots fast to show your bite’s as bad as your bark! When you’re done, prepare for your next target with a full magazine reload. The Gatekeeper Shotgun can be found across the Island, but the Mythic variant is only obtainable from Cerberus rolling over.
HARBINGER SMG
Like Hades himself, the Harbinger SMG is unforgiving and relentless — even when exhausted. Highly accurate when first shot, it has dramatically increased recoil and bloom as more bullets are fired. But that doesn’t stop it from going all out. Find the regular version across the Island or the Mythic version from defeating Hades.
HUNTRESS DMR
Artemis, goddess of the moonlit hunt. During battle, take a note from Artemis and use a weapon created to dole out punishment from a distance. Even though it was created for gods to punish mortals, flip the script and use the Huntress DMR to punish the gods (and some mortals too we guess). You can hunt for Huntress DMRs across the Island… or get the Mythic version by hunting down Zeus.
WARFORGED ASSAULT RIFLE
The Warforged Assault Rifle is forged for battle-hungry gods — which is why it’s the favorite of Ares. Powerful yet unruly, this Assault Rifle has high damage, high rate of fire, and strong recoil. Find one across the Island or fight Ares for the Mythic version!
ANOTHER POWER… THE POWER OF FLIGHT!
The Thunderbolt of Zeus isn’t the only Olympian Power. With the Wings of Icarus, soar through the skies and divebomb your foes below! But beware: fly too long and your wings will burn up, and taking too much damage may lead to a crash landing. Find this Mythic power across the Island!
Yet another Olympian Power is coming your way — the Chains of Hades will pull you in later this Season…
UNDERGROUND IN THE UNDERWORLD: WEAPONS FROM LAST SEASON
Unlike Orpheus looking back at Eurydice, you’re allowed to turn to the weapons from Chapter 5 Season 1. Here’s a list of the weapons returning from last Season:
- Hammer Pump Shotgun
- Frenzy Auto Shotgun
- Nemesis AR
- Thunder Burst SMG
- Reaper Sniper Rifle
- Ranger Pistol
MYTHS & MODS
It’s not enough that weapons descended from Olympus — the Thermal Scope and Speedgrip weapon mods did too. Also forged by Hephaestus, the Thermal Scope mod can be attached to any scoped weapon. Want vision like that of the gods? It more than doubles the scope view and has a thermal effect you can toggle on or off! With the Speedgrip mod, your movement speed while aiming will increase. Aim true and don’t tarry!
Like last Season, you can find mods at Mod Benches, but this time the benches are in new Weapons Bunkers. The bunkers that are unchained will unlock in the middle of the match, when they become ready to raid! If mods aren’t your M.O., Weapons Bunkers also have… weapons.
THE MYTHS MATERIALIZE IN THE MYTHS & MORTALS BATTLE PASS
Alongside Chapter 5 Season 2 comes the Myths & Mortals Battle Pass! With the Battle Pass, unlock rewards in Fortnite by earning XP across Fortnite Battle Royale, creator-made islands, LEGO® Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. Among these rewards are Outfits of some of the legends above, including Zeus and Artemis!
Purchase the Myths & Mortals Battle Pass for only 950 V-Bucks and earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks back by progressing in it.
With the Myths & Mortals Battle Pass purchase, you can unlock these Olympian Outfits:
- Cerberus (unlocked immediately!): Rise from The Underworld.
- Aphrodite: Lead with your heart.
- Poseidon: Slurp-god of the sea. King of the beach.
- Medusa: Humanity’s stone-hearted defender.
- Zeus: Warrior-king of the gods.
- Artemis: All must respect the natural laws, even the gods.
- Hades: The overseer of the Underworld.
The gods aren’t the only ones known for controlling the elements. Later in the Season, unlock the Avatar Korra! The Myths & Mortals Battle Pass will be available to progress in until May 24, 2024, at 2 AM ET.
RANKED ZERO BUILD – NA MATCHMAKING TEST
Ranked ZB players in North America!
We’ve heard your feedback about longer queue times at the upper Zero Build ranks. To address this, we’re doing a test! The NA-East and NA-West matchmaking regions will route to the NA-Central matchmaking region for Ranked Zero Build. This is so that Ranked Zero Build players in North America will be up against a wider pool of players, which means shorter queue times. The results of this test will determine if this is a long-term solution.
MORE RANKED UPDATES
The following updates apply to both Ranked Battle Royale and Ranked Zero Build:
- We tweaked progression in the upper ranks to make it harder and more rewarding to reach Unreal.
- Points are no longer granted for surviving without taking damage.
