Unique Abilities and Playstyle
Find nearby enemy threats with Solid Snake’s Soliton Radar Mk. III, a handheld device with a minimap that marks any hostiles present. Use the device’s precision mode to pinpoint threats, but be wary, as this will alert enemies that they’ve been detected by Solid Snake. The Radar provides a view of immediate surroundings, making it an excellent tool for recon that allows allies to lay groundwork and take map control quickly. While hunting down enemies, Solid Snake can also scavenge gadgets from fallen Operators to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the battle.
ANTI-TOXICITY IMPROVEMENTS
REPORTING
Toxicity reports now offer 16 categories to choose from instead of four, letting players be more specific in their reports and helping the moderation team better target sanctions.
TEXT CHAT
The detection system is now more advanced and with greater context awareness. We’ve also updated the feedback to align with the newer system previously established by voice chat moderation.
RANKED MATCH CANCELLATION
If a team causes a match to be cancelled, any players from that team who are disconnected will get an abandon penalty and a queue penalty.
If a player abandons a match which leads to it to be cancelled, that player and their squadmates will receive a match loss. Other teammates who are not in that player’s squad do not get the loss.
MAP MAINTENANCE
NEW MODERNIZED MAPS
This season adds modernized touches to Coastline, Villa, and Oregon, bringing updated graphics and lighting to these maps alongside new destructible ingredients and an overall health pass.
PLAYLIST
1V1 ARCADE
Players now have the chance to face off against another player in a public 1v1 mode in the Arcade playlist that offers online matchmaking. Settings and maps for this new mode were inspired by those favored by content creators and those picked most by players in the Custom Game 1v1 preset. This mode follows the same ruleset as Bomb mode.
Get ready to face off and see who’s the best! The new Arcade mode will be active for a limited time from April 16 to 30 during Operation Silent Hunt.
RANKED MAP ROTATION
To give players a more varied and dynamic landscape, the maps in Ranked will rotate. At the start of the season, Kanal, Skyscraper, Theme Park, and Outback will be removed and Emerald Plains will join the rotation. This change will decrease the total number of Ranked maps from 16 to 13. Midway through the season, Coastline, Villa, Oregon, and Emerald Plains will be replaced by Skyscraper, Theme Park, Stadium Bravo, and Favela.
MATCH REPLAY
FREE CAM OPTIMIZATION
Using the free cam with mouse and keyboard should be a smoother experience after a small optimization initiative launches this season. A new move-slow function can be remapped to an input of choice in addition to new options that adjust camera movement speeds and zoom behavior.
REPLAY CONTROLS REWORK
A recently redesigned Replay HUD launches new customization options so players can hide various elements to fit their specific needs and preferences.
BALANCING
NEW CADENCE & APPROACH
Players told us that balancing shouldn’t come at the cost of fun or feel like endless nerfs. We agree. Our approach now goes beyond data so changes enhance gameplay without sacrificing enjoyment.
Starting in Year 11, seasons will feature four updates released every three weeks, alternating between major balancing updates with Ranked map rotations and smaller balancing updates.
Each season will also target a specific meta. In Season 1, we’ll focus on entry-fragging and roaming roles. .
SKOPÓS
The v10 Pantheon Shells will move faster and hit harder in Year 11 with mobility and destruction boosts, plus reduced timers so Skopos can swap shells quicker.
- Same destruction as Aruni’s melee attacks
- Speed rating increased to 3 (from 2)
- Health rating reduced to 1 (from 2)
- Active Shell idling time reduced to 1.3 seconds (from 1.5)
- Idle Shell activation time reduced to 1.3 seconds (from 1.5)
- Swap cooldown time reduced to 0.5 seconds (from 3)
FLORES
Flores will receive the T-95 LSW to improve the flexibility of his loadout.
F2 ASSAULT RIFLE
Vertical, Angled, and Horizontal grips are now available for the F2, making it easier to control the weapon’s recoil.
BALLISTIC SHIELDS
Shield Operators (Blackbeard, Blitz, Montagne, Fuze, Clash) no longer can dash through undamaged barricades, lessening their ability to rush on their enemies and encouraging them to engage in combat from a farther distance.
OBSERVATION BLOCKER
Deploying an Observation Blocker is now faster (down to 1 second from 2.5), letting Defenders deploy quickly at the start of the Preparation Phase so they have time to focus on the rest of their setup.
YING
The cluster flashes from Ying’s Candela increases to 1.6 seconds from 1.4 seconds for more consistent entry.
ALIBI
Alibi’s last ping from her Prisma does not disappear when the debuff ends, so the amount of pings is increased by 1 to create stronger intel pressure.
ELA
The concussion effect of Ela’s Grzmot mines has a longer duration, up from 7 seconds to 9 seconds.
AMARU
Amaru has 5 Garra Hook charges instead of 4, which improves her overall mobility.
BATTLE PASS
Premium Battle Pass track will include two Black Ice Packs. These Packs contain Black Ice weapon skins in green, pink, purple, or red color variants.
OPERATOR PRICE DECREASE
Subtle changes are happening around Operation Silent Hunt. As new Operators appear, existing ones are becoming more accessible and receiving price decreases. Brava receives a discount and moves to 10,000 Renown, or 240 R6 Credits, followed by Deimos at 15,000 Renown, or 360 R6 Credits. Finally, we have Rauora going for 20,000 Renown or 480 R6 Credits.
