The Division 2 Update 2.35

Following the release of the Red Horizon patch for The Division 2 last week, the game saw audio issues surface across all platforms. Today, Ubisoft’s Massive Studio has released The Division 2 update 2.35, and this aims to fix that problem.

Note that we said “aims,” as this patch doesn’t fully resolve that issue.

Read on for the developers’ explanation and the official patch notes regarding today’s title update.

The Division 2 Audio Issues Receive Tentative Fix via Patch 2.35

Per Ubisoft, “Agents, we have deployed a new small update today with tentative fixes for the audio issues currently impacting the game. Players should be able to immediately download the patch with no downtime required for this.

As we keep investigating and working hard on a definitive solution for all platforms, we expect small improvements on the audio for consoles and significantly improvements to the experience on PC. Please keep adding information to the Bug Reporter after the update, so our team can collect more information and solve it as soon as possible.”

The studio outlined how to reproduce this bug as well:

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Boot the game
  2. Equip SIG 716 Rifle or The Ravenous Rifle
  3. Go in a high traffic shooting areas (ex: Countdown)
  4. Shoot with the SIG 716 before hearing explosions
  5. Shoot with the SIG 716 after hearing explosions
  6. Notice that the shooting sound will go muffle or mute after the explosions

Ubisoft’s comment: “Hello agents! We made some changes in the Title Update Y8S2.3 ( https://thedivision2.com/tu-y8s2-3-update-notes ) and a small update on the 1st of September ( https://x.com/TheDivisionGame/status/2094697527740178608 ) to address those missing sounds while playing. We’re also continuing the investigation as it is still happening for players.

If you’re also still experiencing weapons and other sounds going mute in your game, please continue contributing to the report and share videos of it happening in your game.”

Players can send bug reports directly to the devs via this form.

Expect another update to be released soon, which we hope fully resolves this issue.

In related news, we should be hearing more info about the game’s third DLC, “Echoes of Central Park,” later this month.
