While we saw it coming miles away, DICE has now officially announced Battlefield 4 for Microsoft’s recently unveiled next-generation Xbox, the Xbox One, as well as Sony’s PlayStation 4.

Previous to Microsoft’s unveiling of the Xbox One earlier today, Battlefield 4 was only officially confirmed for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3. Understandably, DICE and EA were most likely waiting for the announcement of both consoles before relaying the news that Battlefield 4 would be making it to next-gen.

Interestingly, the press release also makes mention of the Battlefield 4 “China Rising premium digital expansion pack,” which is most likely an alternative name for the previously announced Drone Strike DLC.

“In this sprawling expansion, players fight for dominance across the vast and majestic Chinese mainland in four massive multiplayer maps, using all-new vehicles and high-tech military equipment,” reads the release. Through a recent survey, DICE and EA also mentioned a few other possibilites for Battlefield 4 DLC that you might be interested to read about, including Naval Warfare, and “Battlepacks.”

Battlefield 4 will officially hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, this October 29, 2013, later on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
