With Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, developers Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog are set to bring us a reimagining of the first game in the franchise.

Not only that, but it seems they have a few surprises in store for players too, and these will incentivize gamers to replay the game.

This was something the developers shared to us recently.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Has Some Hidden Surprises

At Gamescom during a live group chat, a Crystal Dynamics representative was asked if it’s possible for players to get all the outfits, relics and other collectibles in a single playthrough, or if there’s anything that will encourage players to replay the game.

The representative answered, “So actually both. It depends on how good of a Tomb Raider player you are, so we wanted to stay true to the source. It was possible to also gather everything with one playthrough in the OG Tomb Raider, as in Legacy of Atlantis. Of course, there will be multiple reasons to replay the game, but I don’t want to spoil it too much.”

For those unaware of the game, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’ official description reads, “Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure reimagining of the iconic 1996 debut title. In Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, players will step into the boots of Lara Croft as she embarks on a treacherous globe-trotting quest to discover the lost secrets of Atlantis, with jaw-dropping visuals, modernized gameplay, and new surprises that honor the spirit of the original game. Immersive environments, familiar puzzles redefined with new mechanics, and unforgettable moments – like the epic battle against the T-Rex – are transformed as cinematic gameplay encounters on a grand scale. This is the legendary adventure fans remember, reimagined in ways that weren’t possible before, and with new surprises.”

There’s a long time from now to the game’s February release date, and who knows? Flying Wild Hog or Crystal Dynamics might be willing to spill the beans on one reason why gamers will want to replay the game.

In related news, Tomb Raider Catalyst’s launch window has been narrowed down after the game’s delay.
