Tomb Raider Catalyst Launch Window Narrowed Down After 2028 Delay
After confirmation that Tomb Raider Catalyst has been delayed to 2028, new details have emerged about the possible launch window for the next game in the series, developed by Crystal Dynamics.
A more precise indication comes from Embracer Group through its latest financial report.
In the document for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026/27, Embracer listed Tomb Raider Catalyst among the projects planned for fiscal year 2027/28.
Tomb Raider Catalyst Launch Window Is Finally Clearer After Its Delay

Since the company’s fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31, this places the current launch window between April 1, 2027 and March 31, 2028.
This is an update from what emerged on July 24, when Jeffrey Gattis, head of Amazon Games, said that Tomb Raider Catalyst would arrive in 2028, after Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, which is planned for February 12, 2027.
If you don’t know much about the game, the new chapter will be developed with Unreal Engine 5 and will take Lara Croft to northern India.
The official description of the game reads, “Tomb Raider: Catalyst is set in the wake of a mythical cataclysm that has unleashed ancient secrets and awakened the mysterious forces that guard them”
“When the most notorious treasure hunters from around the world descend on the region, Lara races to uncover the truth buried beneath the fractured landscape and stop those who would use its power for their own gain. As the ancient world collides with the present, Lara must decide who to trust among rivals and allies to prevent a catastrophe and protect a secret that could reshape the future.”
For now, no exact release date or launch month has been announced. Embracer therefore leaves a very wide window, from spring 2027 to the first months of 2028. As more information becomes available, we’ll make sure to let you guys know here at MP1st.
