Last week, a report surfaced that mentioned Grand Theft Auto 6’s file size and review embargo.

Based on what we've seen (official and leaked) from Grand Theft Auto 6, gamers will have a lot of area to cover come November 19.

This is all official, so there’s no need to check whether this is accurate or not.

GTA 6 File Size Officially Revealed, and Even When You Can Start Downloads

Rockstar has revealed that the game’s pre-load will require 212 GB, though “depending on your device,” whatever that means. This means the report previously was accurate, give or take, and this makes GTA 6 the biggest base game download for any current-gen game.

As for pre-loading date and time, check out the official table below, and again, remember: this is official.

Here is a worldwide pre-loading schedule for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S based on the times you provided.

• PS5: November 10, 2026, at 12:00 AM local time (midnight in each region).
• Xbox Series X|S: November 10, 2026, at 12:00 AM GMT (simultaneously worldwide).
• Physical code-in-box versions: Available at retailers beginning November 12, 2026.

Note: PS5 pre-loading follows local midnight, meaning the time varies by region. Xbox pre-loading begins simultaneously worldwide at 12:00 AM GMT on November 10.

For PlayStation 5 owners, Sony released a new firmware update this week for “security,” which we’re guessing is to prevent jailbroken consoles to play the game.

GTA 6 releases November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it’s rumored to be out in Q1 2027 for PC.
