While Battlefield 2042 might not have launched in the best of states, DICE has slowly but surely updated the game into a respectable place, with loads of the changes coming from player feedback more than anything else.

Speaking about feedback, in an interview, DICE Producer Nika Bender comments on how they’ve taken BF2042 player feedback “heavily” into consideration. This player feedback is something the studio used alongside telemetry data to find the real cause of concern.

…that feedback has been taken into account heavily. I would say, very significantly…We do have our telemetry, which is the data in the game, and then we try to understand “Okay, what are the pain points?”.Because quite often when you play the game and when you play multiplayer shooters like Battlefield, you need to understand if the actual problem is what the player is saying. Like, “Hey, I don’t like this,” but the actual cause is something else that makes you feel that way. – Nika Bender, DICE Producer

It does seem like DICE has learned a fair bit with Battlefield 2042 and how the game has finally found its footing. Of course, the fact that it even needed that many significant changes is a cause for concern for players as well. Let’s hope the next Battlefield game won’t require as many updates to make it fun, no?

DICE can continue to show players what they’ve learned from player feedback when Season 6 of the shooter launches this October.
