Battlefield 2042 Missed Cosmetics From Battle Passes Cannot Be Acquired After; Unreleased Skins Surface

With Season 3 of Battlefield 2042 already underway, some might not have finished the previous Battle Passes from the previous seasons. If you’re hoping that any Battlefield 2042 missed cosmetics from Battle Passes will be made available sometime during the current season, you’re sadly, mistaken.

This was confirmed by Battlefield Community Manager Kevin Johnson over on the game’s subreddit, where he replied to a player.

Hey there, not to be the bearer of bad news but you had paid for access to the Battle Pass, the contents of that Battle Pass was still to be unlocked and worked towards. Unfortunately when it comes to cosmetic rewards on offer within Season 1 or 2, you won’t be able to obtain them.

You will however still be able to unlock the new Specialists, vehicles and weapons in the form of catchup quests, which are a series of missions that you can work towards to unlock whichever item you like.

Cosmetics are available during that particular season and are not able to be acquired thereafter.

This is often the standard approach to Battle Passes / Season Passes in games.

That’s certainly a bummer, though not unheard of given that’s how most Battle Passes in other games work (not saying I agree with it).

Continuing with the cosmetics news in BF2042, reliable Battlefield dataminer temporyal has unearthed some unreleased weapon and Specialist skins that should surface in the 3.1 patch that’s set to be released in December.

Same as with every datamined info, none of the skins that have been unearthed are guaranteed to be released in an upcoming update, though temporyal’s finds usually are released at one point or another.

Should DICE change how Battle Passes work in the game or perhaps have these cosmetics available in other means? Sound off in the comments below.
