Black Ops 2 on PS4, PS5 Plagued by Modded Lobbies That Will Brick Player Accounts
The re-release of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 on PS4, PS5 is something that should have been met with excitement given a lot of people do want to play that classic COD multiplayer experience.
Unfortunately, two weeks in, the Black Ops experience was ruined by hackers who found a way to give players negative XP that locked them out of playing multiplayer.
While Activision and port developer Iron Galaxy were quick to roll out a patch to stop this, it seems there’s another wave of hackers infecting Black Ops 2 this time, and it essentially bricks player accounts.
Needless to say, this is a big PSA to everyone not to join any modded lobbies.
Black Ops 2 PS5, PS4 Player Accounts Are Being Bricked by Hackers
People on social media, Reddit, and more have voiced warnings that there are individuals on Black Ops 2 who are bricking people’s accounts. Same as with the last time, players are instantly “awarded” with max-level Prestige status with their guns and camos, but this time, it’s a lot harder to avoid.
While the Black Ops hack at launch needed players to get a kill in a multiplayer match, this time around, hackers don’t even need you to enter a match, as they can mess with your account just by being in the same lobby!
Check out how this hack works in action in the videos below:

As you can see, the players don’t even need to enter an actual match, as being in the same lobby with these hackers will mess your account up, granting max Prestige and preventing players from accessing multiplayer.
It’s now known that streamer “C Isn’t Sharp” is one of the people who are doing it as well, and from what we’ve read, they are doing it using a devkit.
Here’s proof of C Isn’t Sharp bricking player accounts:

It’s gotten so bad that one X (formerly Twitter) user has plastered C Isn’t Sharp’s real name and home address online, and asked Iron Galaxy and fans to do something about it. We aren’t linking to the tweet for obvious reasons, but it’s not too hard to find it.
We’re hoping Activision and Iron Galaxy are able to do something about this quick, and we’ve reached out for a comment as well, and will update the article if we hear anything back.
In related news, we tested out Black Ops 2 on PS4 and PS5, and found out that the last-gen version has even better image quality than the PS5 version if you’re gaming on the PS5 Pro. Don’t believe us? Check out our side-by-side comparison to see for yourself.

I think devs do it, because black ops 1 and black ops 2 is the only last good COD games. I will never buy their new games no matter what they do. I only play old good games.
