Darksiders 4 Confirmed for Release by March 2028
It has taken several years to bring it back, but the Darksiders series is ready to make a big return, and we now know when we will get the long-awaited fourth game.
Embracer Group, owner of THQ Nordic, which is handling the project’s publishing, has released a new financial report with the results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-2027.
Along with confirming the release windows for games such as Tomb Raider Catalyst and the next game in the Kingdom Come series, the company also confirmed that Darksiders 4 will finally arrive in fiscal year 2027–2028.
After Years of Waiting, Darksiders 4 Finally Has a Clear Launch Timeline
In simpler words, the action RPG developed by Gunfire Games will be released on a date that has not yet been decided between April 1, 2027 and March 31, 2028. So, while we will still have to wait quite a long time for its release, at least we now know that Embracer Group has a clear roadmap.
The game was revealed in August 2025, and since then, the developers haven’t revealed much about it.
The fact that the game is planned for fiscal year 2027-2028, as long as there are no delays, also means that Darksiders 4 could appear at major gaming events in 2026 or 2027, giving fans a better look at what to expect. It will be worth keeping an eye on events such as The Game Awards 2026, Summer Game Fest 2027, or THQ Nordic’s own shows for new trailers or more information about the game.
Embracer Group is also preparing more than just Darksiders 4 for fiscal year 2027-2028. The company used its financial report to point out that new games from its studios will arrive every few months. More specifically, Embracer Group says it plans to release “at least two major games” every year.
If Darksiders 4 is one of the “major games” already confirmed for 2027-2028, we can also expect the next Kingdom Come game to be the second one, as Embracer Group confirmed in its report that the next game in the Kingdom Come franchise will also launch during that period.
