Welcome to Daunting Games — MP1st’s newest podcast, This new podcast talks to lore experts about the backstory and how newer fans can enjoy games with a long history. Every month we will cover a new game (or two) with an expert (or experts) in that game’s backstory and lore. Our first episode brings a game series that has been around 20 years. With tons of books, comics and games surrounding it, Xbox’s flagship series, Halo, can be challenging to jump into. Our guest is Ian Browning Smith, also known as Halo Canon. With over 180,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, Halo Canon has followed the series for years with videos on everything from the games to the less known books. His expertise in Halo lore and extensive knowledge of the entire Halo universe makes him an ideal guest to help people who are a bit nervous jumping into a series with so much backstory.
So please sit back, relax and join in on our first of many deep dives into Daunting Games. We already have a second episode shot, and a hint is the lore of this game is a bit “Evil.” I might have made it a bit too obvious, but it’s an outstanding series.
PS: This episode might have some audio issues on the host’s end (myself) because I decided not to make sure my microphone was plugged in. So the audio may seem of lower quality, but it has been fixed for the next episodes in the series.
