EA DICE Building New Team to Support Ridgeline in Developing New Battlefield Single-Player Campaign

New Battlefield Single-Player Campaign

Last year, EA officially announced Ridgeline Games as the new internal studio tasked in developing the new Battlefield single-player campaign, which is headlined by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto. It looks like more help is incoming, as EA is building a new team in order to help Ridgeline with the in-development campaign.

It looks like this new team won’t have a new name and will be just an internal team that’s tasked to help Ridgeline. Check out the statement released by DICE VP and GM Rebecka Coutaz:

Our decision to build out our single-player team here at DICE is a proactive approach that arms our global teams with the resources they need early on as we look ahead to the next Battlefield experience. We have an immense amount of strength and opportunity within our three global studios, with each team bringing their own set of deep franchise experiences. Now, we are able to expand opportunities and benefit from new talent that will help Ridgeline write the next chapter for the franchise.

There’s still no timetable or when this new Battlefield game will be revealed, or when it’ll be released.

What we do know is, EA DICE (Sweden) is developing the multiplayer component of the next Battlefield game, with Ridgeline developing the campaign, and Ripple Effect doing their own thing (perhaps a continuation of Battlefield Portal?).

While a new Battlefield game is currently in the works, the BF game we have now — Battlefield 2042 — still has quite a lot of stuff left to offer players. Not only are we getting Season 4 next week, but DICE even talked about Season 5’s new map today, which you can read about here.
