Bethesda is set to roll out a new hotfix for Fallout 76 on May 6, but before that happens, the servers need to be taken down for maintenance for a few hours.

So, if you can’t log in or are wondering what’s happened, the servers haven’t melted. It’s just Bethesda has taken them down, though it won’t be for the entire day.

Is Fallout 76 Down on May 6?

Fallout 76 Down for Server Maintenance

Bethesda says the servers will be taken down on May 6 at 10 am ET/9 am CT/7 am PT/10 pm HKT. No specific time has been given on how long it will be down, but if past maintenance outages are to be referenced, it’s usually 3-4 hours, and sometimes longer.

Once the patch is rolled out and the servers are live, expect fixes to be implemented, and the start of the Big Bloom event!

Per the developers’ latest acknowledgment, the date change is due to a game stability hotfix the studio wants released in time for the new event.

The game’s community manager shared, “During Mothman Equinox, your reports of game instability leading to crashes corroborated the data we saw on our end. We started an investigation, found what was causing these crashes around public events, and we now have a fix that is in the process of getting tested and certified. We want our newest seasonal event to kick off with the best experience possible for everyone participating. This is a time to celebrate, and we hope that this hotfix we’re preparing will allow you to focus on enjoying springtime with your friends in Appalachia and obtaining new rewards.:

“This hotfix will also provide a fix for those who were stuck on “The Catalyst” questline and address instances where players were disconnected from the game while interacting with the Ammo Storage Box,” they added.

There is no word on whether the patch includes additional fixes, but you can expect the complete details to be available here on MP1st.
