GTA 6 Rating Listed: Game Receives MA-15+ From Australian Rating Board

The next Grand Theft Auto game is quite likely the most anticipated game in the world right now. As the game’s release inevitably creeps closer day by day, fans are beginning to look everywhere they can for more information. While nothing has been released by Rockstar just yet, there is a new development on the game, as a GTA 6 rating has been set by the Australian Rating Board since April.

Grand Theft Auto VI has been rated MA15+ on the Australian Classification board… somehow

The Australian Ratings Board rated the game on April 2 earlier this year. They gave it an MA-15+ rating for “strong sex scenes” and “strong drug use.” It’s worth noting that Grand Theft Auto V was given an R-18+ rating by the same board for “high impact themes, drug use, violence, and sex,” as well as strong language and nudity. It seems odd that GTA 6 would receive a lesser rating than GTA 5, so it’s likely that the current rating is just a placeholder.

Regardless, it’s not surprising to see the game rated for such themes. GTA has always pushed the envelope on raunchy, controversial, and in-your-face adult content. Don’t be surprised if the game’s rating is changed to R-18+ before it finally releases (whenever that may be).

Could this mean Rockstar is very close to official unveiling it? Let’s hope that’s the case, especially since Take-Two’s statements regarding its financial outlook suggests GTA 6 is set for release next year.

Im anticipating the official release of GTA 6 for the 1p campaign, not a fan of the online portion. But, i have hope that the 1p campaign will live up to the hype.
