Halo Games Not Releasing On Steam, Despite Rumors

Despite recent sightings of PC versions of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 and Halo 3 on the Steam Database, Microsoft currently has no plans to release any Halo titles on the Steam Store.

Last Monday, a A NeoGAF user stumbled upon the three Halo titles on the Steam Apps Database, suggesting that all three might have been on their way to Valve’s digital distribution service.

However, in a recent statement issued to GameSpot, Microsoft commented on the matter, stating, “We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam,”

As it stands. Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 are already titles that can be purchased for the PC; however, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 remain Xbox 360 exclusives.

Unfortunate for those hoping for a third outing with Master Chief on the mouse and keyboard.
