It’s been a busy few months for Horizon fans, with rumors afoot of multiple titles and a Zero Dawn remake in development and the recent leaks of a Horizon multiplayer game. Today, Guerrilla Games and Firesprite have announced that their upcoming title Horizon: Call of the Mountain has officially gone gold ahead of its simultaneous launch with the PSVR2 headset on February 22, 2023.

For those unaware, a video game is said to have “gone gold” when development has concluded and the title is ready for publication and distribution.

First announced at CES 2022 as a PSVR2 launch title, Horizon: Call of the Mountain is a virtual reality (VR) experience in the Horizon universe created exclusively for the PSVR2 headset. The game unites PSVR2’s immersion capabilities with the vast, scalable landscapes characteristic of the Horizon games, using the Sense controllers’ haptic tech to convey physical tension and weight.

With launch just two weeks away, the PSVR2 headset already boasts an impressive collection of fresh and reimagined titles that will be available to play on day one.
