With the War for Wakanda DLC dropping in just two short days, and given we’re in August, many Marvel’s Avengers players might be wondering whether the Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man release is still planned for this year for PlayStation gamers. Good news, as Crystal Dynamics says that gamers should still expect webhead to swing on to PS4 and PS5 this 2021!

When Will Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man DLC Release?

Speaking to Screen Rant, Senior Ggame Designer Scott Walters had this to say about the Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man DLC release:

In terms of what we can say now, we’ve always scheduled and looked to bring Spider-Man out in 2021 for PlayStation owners. That is still on track, so we’ll have more announcements later on this year.

This comment echoes the previous Spider-Man release confirmation from back in May, though seeing that we only have less than four months left in the year, many were still wondering if this was still the case.

I suppose the “lack” of information is mostly due to the team’s focus on finishing the roadmap which concludes with the release of the Marvel’s Avengers War for Wakanda expansion later this week.

Hopefully it won’t be long after for us us to hear about Crystal Dynamics’ plans for Spider-Man.

Marvel’s Avengers War for Wakanda releases on Tuesday, August 17 across all available platforms for free. It will introduce Black Panther along with a number of new characters, and further expand on the Marvel’s Avengers storyline.
