A sizeable PUBG update is rolling out to both public and test PC builds. It weighs in at 2.1GB. Though Bluehole had already teased what would be included in this patch, you’ve got to wonder at the sheer size of it. Surely something else is included, too?
Anyway, here’s a reminder of what the patch is confirmed to do thus far:
Early Access – Week 31 – Patch Notes
Gameplay
- Blue zone DOT (Damage over Time) increases when characters are farther away from the play zone
- This principle does not apply to the first blue zone
Bug Fix
- Resolved a bug where bullets would sometimes ignore armor
Maybe we’ll learn more as players test out the new build. That 2.1GB can’t all be tweaks to the Blue Zone and a bug fix, right? What do you think? Is there something else hidden within this latest update?
We’ll keep you updated as and when we learn more.
In other PUBG news, over 322,000 cheaters have been banned and new concurrent player count has been achieved, the game was bombarded with negative reviews following in-game ads, and Bluehole is apparently “in talks” with Sony regarding a PS4 version.
The update isn’t technically 2GB
If you look at the Depot size change on SteamDB it’s a 4MB patch. The way Unreal assets are stored means you need to re-download the whole pak file hence the 2 GB.
