Report: Hideo Kojima Next Game “Overdose” Footage Leaks

Hideo Kojima has reportedly been working on multiple unannounced titles. One of these titles is a horror game starring Margaret Qualley, dubbed project “Overdose” (possibly a placeholder name). We know this because Kojima’s Project Overdose has seen multiple leaks over the past couple of days.

Today, a two-minute-long gameplay recording for Hideo Kojima’s next game Overdose has leaked. You can see Margaret Qualley in the gameplay clip as well.

In the clip, you can see Qualley wandering through empty, eerie hallways and seeing weird creatures. The gameplay clip ends with Qualley getting screaming and the screen fades out to a screen reading “Game Over,” which then transitions to “A Hideo Kojima Game, OVERDOSE.”

You see some interactable red dots throughout the gameplay, suggesting that the gameplay was captured on mobile. This has caused many to theorize that Overdose is the game Kojima is working on with Microsoft for Xbox Game Pass. 

Kojima has also been revealing actors for an unannounced project, which includes Shioli Kutsuna and Elle Fanning, but this seems like a different project altogether. In an interview, the developer revealed that his next game will be like a “new medium,” and there, he might be referring to Overdose.

While the leak seems substantial, nothing official has been revealed just yet. However, given the scope of this leak, an official announcement should be on the way soon. The Game Awards might be the perfect fit for an official reveal, given Kojima’s relationship with Keighly.
