Report: Massive Epic Game Store Leak Mentions Final Fantasy 9 Remake, The Last of Us 2, and More
Video game fans have used the site SteamDB for a long time to keep an eye out for new games and DLCs on the store’s back-end. This morning, a similar site named EpicDB went live, and with it came a massive Epic Games Store leak that suggests that titles such as a Final Fantasy 9 remake and The Last of Us 2 are on their way to PC.
This leak happened early this morning as the site went live. A quickly trending post on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit began tracking all of the titles that had been leaked, which were codenamed. Many of the codenames have since been deciphered, and users have been forming strong theories as to what the other codenames might mean.
Among the titles that leaked were a title dubbed “Semla” from Rockstar Games, which many are presuming to be Red Dead Redemption 1 given that its roughly 10GB file size is almost identical to the size of its PS4 counterpart. A title named “Utah” was also uploaded by Sony Interactive Entertainment, which one user determined was a codename for The Last of Us 2.
Square Enix uploaded a handful of titles as well, one of which was codenamed “Momo.” Fans have sleuthed that this is most likely a Final Fantasy 9 remake given that there are DLC pre-order items named “Tetra Master Starter Pack” and “Thief’s Knives.” Tetra Master is Final Fantasy 9’s in-game card game and there’s a set of Thief’s equipment that appears in the game.
There’s a whole bunch more leaked here. Here’s the entire list from the Reddit post:

Most of the leaked titles are just codenames that haven’t had any games associated with them yet. Some devious individuals have also since discovered how to add their own titles to EpicDB and have been creating fake entries for games like GTA 6 and Elden Ring 2.
Now, it’s important to keep in mind that since most of these titles are merely guesses or inferences at this point, none of them are necessarily confirmed. Even the titles that we know are accurate don’t necessarily imply that these games are for sure coming to PC. Things can change at any moment in the development pipeline. That being said, we’ve already seen rumors of games like Red Dead Redemption coming to PC, so this list holds some water.
All things considered, this is a pretty reputable leak, and we’ll likely see many of these games come to light. It’s very reminiscent of NVIDIA GeForce Now leak that occurred a few years back and leaked God of War PC, the Fable reboot, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and many more. We can only hope that this debacle yields similar results.
We’ll be sure to let our readers know as soon as we hear more regarding this leak.
Update: Epic has reached out to us and provided the following statement:”We released an update so third-party tools can’t surface any new unpublished product titles from the Epic Games Store catalog.”
