Report: Monster Hunter Wilds Demo Runs at 30fps on PS5
Monster Hunter Wilds, a highly anticipated title from Capcom, was in the spotlight at gamescom 2024, where attendees got hands-on experience with a demo of the game. However, the demo was revealed to be limited to 30 frames-per-second on the PS5.
According to a well-known Monster Hunter streamer, Canta Per Me, who played the demo during the event, the game ran at 30 fps on the PS5. “It didn’t run at 60fps but felt like a stable 30fps,” Canta Per Me shared on social media. He also mentioned that there was no option to switch to a Performance mode in the demo, although this could change in the final release.
This limitation isn’t new for the franchise; previous titles like Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise also capped their frame rates at 30 FPS on base consoles. However, there is hope that Capcom will include a Performance mode offering higher frame rates when the game officially launches in 2025.
Despite the frame rate limitations, the demo received praise for its smooth gameplay and the ability to skip cutscenes. Capcom has not yet confirmed whether the final version will offer a 60 fps option.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch in 2025 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.

I hope it plays as smooth as MH Rise and not like MH World, Rise has smooth gameplay whereas MH World feels clunky.
