Rumor: New Sony Sci-Fi RPG IP Leaked With Brief Footage; “Many More Leaks” to Come This Year

A new unannounced PlayStation game is apparently in the works, according to a post on the IconEra forums. The game, which is shown in what seems to be a very early prototype, is apparently a new Sony sci-fi RPG IP.

The footage from this leaked game showcases the player controlling a character in a third-person POV, with what appears to be a humanoid-type monster climbing some sort of tower.

According to the poster, “John Elden Ring,”the footage comes from a “very early build” of the IP despite being built on Unreal Engine 5, which likely explains the dated-looking graphics. It’s also being developed through Sony’s XDev branch alongside an unknown studio. Other than that, though, we know pretty much nothing about this game.

A second edit to the post does, however, hint at more possible leaks. “There will be many more leaks this year, so stay tuned,” the post now mentions. It’s unclear as to whether or not this leak pertains to this game or others, as we’ve been getting quite a few game leaks in the past few weeks. The alpha builds of Horizon Forbidden West and Halo 3 were recently found online, and there’s even a playable version of the unfinished Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded fan project. Still, as we didn’t really get much from this particular leak, it’s not unreasonable to assume that we’ll be hearing more about this IP sometime this year.

With Sony’s PS5 selling more units than ever before, this unannounced RPG may launch to a significantly larger player base, should the leak prove to be true.

Note that same with any other leak, take this with a grain of salt for now until more info surfaces.
