Microsoft and Xbox have released several exclusives over the years. However, following their acquisition of Bethesda, Starfield emerged as the most anticipated game. And to no one’s surprise, the game has delivered exceptional results, with the Starfield player count surpassing 11 million in less than two months from release. Furthermore, on its launch day, it established a new record for the highest number of Xbox Game Pass subscribers in a single day.

Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella shared this information in the company’s Q1 financial report where he said:

We released Starfield this quarter to broad acclaim. More than 11 million people have played the game to date. Nearly half of the hours played have been on PC, and on launch day we set a record for the most Game Pass subscriptions added on a single day eve.

Amy Hood, Chief Financial Officer at Microsoft, further emphasized that the growth of Xbox Game Pass exceeded expectations in Q1, mainly due to the launch of Starfield.

The game has been a huge hit for Microsoft as it was the most wishlisted game, and even had a great launch with over one million concurrent players on launch day. We also loved the game, gave it a 9/10, and called it a must-play title in our detailed review.
