Take-Two CEO: “Highly Confident” on GTA 6 Fall 2025 Release Window, Rockstar Seeking “Perfection”

Grand Theft Auto 6 release

Just a few days ago, Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will be released in Fall 2025. While there is no specific month or date set just yet, there is the possibility of the game being pushed back outside the initial launch window.

It seems there’s little chance of a major delay happening to GTA 6, as in an interview, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick mentioned, “Well, there is slippage in the industry, and we’re not immune to that however, we narrowed that timing because we are highly confident in that timing.”

In the same video interview by CNBC, Zelnick was also asked on how he knew the timing of GTA 6’s release, and Zelnick answered that there are elements that can be measured for the release such as bugs, but also added on how Rockstar is aiming for “perfection” for their upcoming open-world action game. “There are elements you can actually measure for example: the number of bugs in a title. And every one of us will make sure there are as few bugs as possible before we launch. However, in the case of an extraordinary title for which there are extraordinary expectations, it’s not really about bugs; it’s about creating an experience that no one has seen before. And Rockstar Games seek perfection in what they do. Perfection is indeed hard to measure; it really is more subjective than objective,

Well, there you go. It seems GTA 6 won’t see any major delays — at least based on Zelnick’s latest statements. Then again, don’t be surprised if it does see a delay given how ambitious Grand Theft Auto games are.

They can keep GTA6 in the oven as long as they want, I’m sure the fanbase will look for any bugs and/or glitches as well as take advantage of exploits. Finding all the bugs and glitches in an open world free roam sandbox game is almost impossible even for dev’s.
I’m sure people will use jailbroke software like Save Wizards and have modded accounts and do money drops.

As for the release date it’s purely speculation based off certain factors like minimizing the amount of bugs and glitches, how long GTA6 remains in the oven is anyone’s guess depending how long it takes to minimize the amount of bugs and glitches.
