The Division 2 Game Updates Can’t Be Pushed Out Due to Error, Devs Working on Fix (Update)

The Division 2 Down

After the news of Season 11’s indefinite delay last week, Ubisoft has announced that new The Division 2 game updates cannot currently be released due to a critical bug that has brought down the game’s build generation system. Ironically, the problem arose during the creation of an update to fix the localization issue that resulted in Season 11’s delay. The developers are “working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible,” and have restored the functionality of several significant components of the system. However, Season 10 “Manhunt” activities cannot be extended as a result despite Season 11 being delayed.

Read the announcement below:

Dear Agents,

Last week, we shared news that the season would be delayed due to a localization issue. This past Saturday, in the process of creating the update which would resolve the issue, we encountered an error that brought down the build generation system for The Division 2. As a result, we cannot update the game until this system has been rebuilt.

In the past, when a Season was delayed, we extended the previous Season’s activities. Unfortunately, this is not possible in the current situation, as we are unable to make server or client side updates until the build generation system is restored.

We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. We have made good progress over the last 96 hours and have been able to restore critical aspects of the system and will share the timeline for resolution when available.

We deeply appreciate your understanding and patience and will share our in-game compensation plan details soon.

Our next update will be provided tomorrow.

Last week, Ubisoft announced that The Division 2 Season 11: Reign of Fire, set for a February 7 release, was being indefinitely postponed after “a series of delays in the localization process.” Normally, the current Season’s activities are extended if the next Season’s launch is delayed, but it appears that this will not be the case at least until the development team manages to fix the issue and release an update. Meanwhile, Season 11: Reign of Fire still has no release date a week into the delay announcement, and fans of the game will likely be waiting some time now before that changes.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna. Stay tuned here at MP1st for any new announcements or updates about the game.

Update: Ubisoft has announced that the issue has been resolved, and that Season 10 activities have been extended as a result:

“We have good news! We have successfully created and deployed a server-side update. This is now live and extends Season 10 content. We deeply appreciate your support and patience! More news about Season 11 and in-game compensation will be shared at a later date.”
