Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Releases Oct. 31 on PS5, PC; PS4 Version Owners Can Upgrade for Just $9.99

After we initially leaked its existence way back in 2022, and following the ESRB rating that surfaced this week, Sony has now officially announced Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for PS5 and PC, and will be released this October 31, 2024!

Expect Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered to offer new graphical features and also include The Frozen Wilds DLC. Check out the trailer below to see Aloy’s first outing in a new graphical sheen! Check out the trailer:

Hitman World of Assassination VR Announced and Coming to PSVR 2 This December

Hitman World of Assassination is about to become even more immersive as the game has officially been announced for PSVR2, with a release of this Holiday season.

Oh yeah, now that it’s coming to VR, I can already imagine all the crazy things people will be pulling off in it, considering all the crazy things they’ve done in the original release.

About the PSVR2 Version:

HITMAN World of Assassination on PlayStation VR2 has been enhanced to completely immerse players during their missions. Now supporting dual-wielding, a wide array of actions and interactions have been added, including the possibility of performing actions with both controllers at the same time, active reloading, on-body weapon holstering, aiming through the sniper’s scope. Enhancements have been added to improve the core VR experience, such as Room scale implementation, spatial interactions to touch, grab, and position, integration of the PlayStation VR2 controllers’ adaptative triggers, and many more.

Players who already own HITMAN World of Assassination on PlayStation 5 will be able to buy an upgrade pack to the PlayStation VR2 content for $9.99, €9.99, £8.99.”

Hitman World of Assassinations is slated to release for the PSVR2 this December.

Valorant Update 1.000.013 Deployed for Patch 9.06; Here’s What’s New

Valorant update 1.000.013 is now live for consoles and this brings patch 9.06 this September 24! This brings agent updates across both PC and consoles, and even platform-specific changes, which are all available below in the official patch notes.

AGENT UPDATES

  • Agent abilities involving walls have had their interaction with the glass window on Ascent changed.
    • Phoenix’s Blaze and Neon’s Fast Lane will break the window if their initial cast center point would hit the window, but the walls themselves will not interact with the window.
    • Harbor’s High Tide will no longer break the glass window since it does not hit walls.
    • Chamber’s Trademark, Cypher’s Trapwire, and Killjoy’s Lockdown will no longer break windows when placed too close.
  • Brimstone’s Orbital Strike AOE windup/activation and Vyse’s Steel Garden AOE windup audio integration have been updated from being positioned directly on the Agent when in the AOE to being slightly directional toward the origin of the AOE to allow you to know which direction to travel in, in order to escape.

GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS UPDATES

  • Updated voting systems so that draw votes no longer take into account AFK players.

MAP UPDATES

  • Haven
    • There are several quality of life improvements to help with placing Vyse’s Arc Rose and Cypher’s Trapwire on crates on Haven.

PLAYER BEHAVIOR UPDATES

  • We have adjusted our comms abuse penalties to create a better comms experience in VALORANT. People who engage in repeat comms abuse behavior will receive increased penalties.
  • In order to create a healthier comms experience in VALORANT, we will be issuing comms abuse penalties to people who have received a manual behavioral evaluation due to their repeated pattern of comms abuse.

SOCIAL UPDATES

  • We made an update to our voice chat system. You should now more reliably reconnect to voice chat after unexpected disconnects.

WEAPONS UPDATES

  • We are adding Weapon Skin names to the in-game Weapon Switcher. We hope this will make it easier to determine what skin you are using when you pick up or switch to a weapon. You can see this change on your in-game HUD.

Agents

  • Fixed an issue where Deadlock’s Sonic Sensors could stay active if placed as Deadlock was killed.
  • Fixed an issue where Cypher’s Trapwire did not take damage from certain abilities.
  • Fixed an issue where Gekko’s Wingman could get stuck in a loop while attempting to chase an unreachable target.
  • Fixed an issue where Yoru’s Fakeout did not trigger Vyse’s Shear.
  • Fixed an issue where Breach was unable to cast abilities through Vyse’s Shear.
  • Fixed an issue where Sova’s Recon Bolt was destroyed by Vyse’s Shear.
  • Fixed an issue where Gekko’s Thrash and Raze’s Showstopper could hit people on the other side of Vyse’s Shear.
  • Fixed an issue where Vyse’s Arc Rose could be placed on invalid objects.
  • Fixed various collision issues with Vyse’s Shear, that blocked bullets and people while despawning.

Cosmetics

  • Fixed an issue where the Combat Report did not display “killed” text when you kill an ally.
  • Fixed an issue where the Combat Report “killed by” text would have incorrect text alignment in Arabic.

    • As you join our community, complete the tutorial, and start sharpening your skills on the battlefield, we want to make sure you are armed with the right information in order to succeed and secure that clutch! So, we’ve implemented a “New Player Tip” system that will display useful in-game information based on the actions you take during the match. These tips will provide critical information for gameplay fundamentals, potential focuses for skill improvements, and suggestions for advanced strategies.
    • NOTE: If you’re an existing player, New Player Tips won’t show up unless turned on in Settings.
    • Our New Player Tips have been built from the ground up to give you more opportunities to skill-up and learn VALORANT faster via:
      • Tips that “listen” to your in-match actions and behaviors.
      • Tips that level up with you as you learn the fundamentals of VALORANT gameplay, from beginner to advanced strategies.
    • Tips can be switched On or Off in your Settings.

SOCIAL UPDATES

  • You can now block communications with other players. When you block someone, you will no longer see or hear any direct communications from them, including:
    • Messages in text chat

  • Updates to megamap cursor sensitivity settings:
    • Added a new setting to allow you to select an input curve for megamap cursor controls.

      • Omen’s From the Shadows map ability controls
  • Removed aim assist from some abilities that aren’t intended to target opposing players.

MAPS UPDATES

  • Fracture enters Unrated & Swift Play queues. This is the final legacy map being added to console mode queues. Console players now have the entire catalog of current VALORANT maps.

New Action Game “Hell Is Us” Announced With Teaser Trailer

At Sony’s State of Play, Nacon revealed a new game incoming for PS5 and it’s titled “Hell Is Us.” In the teaser, we get to see scant seconds of gameplay where we see the game’s protagonist, an old man and a sword…you can’t get more vague than that!

The game is being developed by Rogue Factor, which developed Mordheim City of the Damned. No word yet on a release date, and while it was revealed at State of Play, chances are it’ll be playable on other platforms as well.

If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it’s because Earth harbors the worst of demons: humankind.

Discover the first Gameplay footage of Hell is Us , an action-adventure game set in a war-torn country, where players must unravel the mysteries of their past and confront the human darkness that fuels the chaos.

Hell is Us will be available on PlayStation 5 in 2025.

The Midnight Walk Announced by Moon Hood Studios For PS5 and PSVR2; Handcrafted in Clay and Cardboard

As revealed during today’s State of Play event, Moon Hood Studios has revealed their first title, The Midnight Walk, for both the PS5 and PVSR2. Here’s the full reveal trailer

In a blog post published a few days ago, Moon Hood Studio says that it has partnered with Fast Travel Games to publish The Midnight Walk, their first title. They note that the game is entirely handcrafted with real clay that is 3D-scanned and that players can expect a dark yet heartwarming tale with innovative gameplay mechanics and breathtaking landscapes filled with equally nightmarish creatures.

“In the Midnight Walk, you awake as The Burnt One, a mysterious being who’s dug themselves out of a muddy grave to find their purpose. They find it in Potboy – a little dormant lantern creature that you reignite and bring back to life.

Together you must venture down the Midnight Walk – a perilous, nightmarish highway and, along the way, survive five strange tales about fire; its lifegiving warmth as well as its inherent danger. You’ll outsmart ghoulish enemies, meet a fantastical cast of companions, and gaze in wonder at our hand-crafted world. That’s right; every asset in the game was first sculpted in clay before being 3D-scanned into the game and animated in a stop motion style!”

No release date was given for the title, though we know it’s coming to both the PS5 and PSVR2.

Astro Bot Free DLC Incoming in Fall 2024, Trailer Shows What’s on the Way

Team Asobi is set to give Astro Bot players a dose of new content this Fall 2024! At today’s State of Play, the Astro Bot free DLC has been announced!

What’s confirmed to be in it include five (5) new online speedrun levels and 10 new bots to rescue. Also included in the trailer is confirmation that Arrowhead Game Studio’s Helldivers 2 will be part of the update as well.

While no date has been announced, we’re expecting more free content drops for Astro Bot given the game’s credits kind of leaked their existence.

The Plucky Squire Review – Happy Endings

That spark in your eyes when you were younger, reading children’s books filled with adventure and magic, worlds of possibilities, do you remember that? What if this joy could be brought to life in a game of remarkable creativity and out-of-the-box (and out-of-the-book) thinking? That’s what Devolver Digital’s The Plucky Squire sets out to do, delivering an original, charming, and quite frankly mesmerizing tale that is almost unlike any other – this is a game, a story, both, that will play straight to your childish heart.

Plot Twist

This is the story of this brave squire named Jot, whom you’ll control inside of the book and outside as well, thrown into the real world by the malevolent wizard Humgrump. It’s not quite a spoiler since this concept is mentioned as a highlight of the game, and marks a drastic change of pace from the colorful drawings inside the children’s book to the glossy and larger 3D areas on the messy desk from the kid who loves the adventures of Jot.

There’s no way of saying that this game is nothing other than a great, charming time. Everything I have tried is a noteworthy display of creativity and almost flawless realization, not merely as pure eye-candy but also at the service of effective and fun gameplay, not really challenging in terms of skill requirements – perhaps a downside for some players, but that’s not really the goal of the game –  but with perfectly tuned puzzles that make you think without overcoming their stay. It helps with the pleasant flow of the story, the mechanics that you unlock, and surprises keep coming at a steady pace, pushing you to progress and discover what else is there in store for you.

The Plucky Squire starts inside a storybook, with some really great 2D art and a gameplay that is simple and easy to grasp since the first pages. Yes, pages, as your character only moves within the book’s boundaries, and whenever you reach the exit margin, the page flips and you are introduced to the next two pages, the playing area with a new layout and surprises. Once in a while, there are cutscenes brilliantly created in the same art style, with a narrator who sounds like the one from LittleBigPlanet voicing the progress of Jot and his companions, oozing charm and childish wonder all of the time.

The Plucky Squire Preview

Controlling your little squire in 2D feels great, the sword slashes and throws – as you can purchase new skills along the way – adding some depth to the wonderful simplicity of it. Combat is straightforward but requires some timing, dodge rolls ready to be used as if you were in a Dark Souls demake – I exaggerate, but bear with me – and animations so smooth that you’ll think you are watching a cartoon brought to life, the little characters and enemies so cute, so lovely to see moving around.

Sometimes you face a perspective switch to a pitch-black side-scroller, now a platformer game with some puzzle elements. It’s endearing and one of many surprises coming your way, which include constant perspective changes to get into a boxing match, or even a collectible card game duel as you battle an elf for her crossbow – but definitely not the kind of battle you may be expecting by the sound of it.

It’s not just about combat either; you’ll find clever puzzles including some that push you to manipulate the environment by taking words out of short sentences such as “the gate was closed” and switching them around to get the outcome you need. In this case, finding the word “open” in some other sentence and carrying it there would open the gate, allowing you to move forward. It’s another aspect of a storybook come to life, changing its naturally strict nature into something that suits you, and one more way of showcasing the brilliant design of the game.

When Humgrump kicks you out of the book in a bid to change the course of the story, it all changes. You are now in full 3D, exploring the chaotic desk and discovering a brave new world filled with toys, bugs, and various creatures. Through magic and some cleverly placed entry points, Jot will be able to seamlessly move from 3D to 2D across a few surfaces, smartly mixing both worlds and providing different types of challenges and perspective tricks. The detail as you explore the desk is incredible, very colorful, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that the magnificence of the 2D artwork and animations manages to surpass everything else that the game has to offer.

A Tale Where the Player Wins

The Plucky Squire is that clever. It’s a game that is impossible to dislike, young or old gamers, a breath of fresh air and a colossal display of creativity and talent. Finding a game that looks like it is a daunting task, and while it may not win a GOTY award because it’s not something designed for the masses and with AAA marketing, it will be game of the year for many, many players who love new and original experiences. The Plucky Squire is a story that is certain to have a happy ending, right as it should be, and no evil wizard will be able to do anything about it.

Score: 9/10

Pros:

  • A truly charming and magical game for all ages
  • The mix of in and out of the book gameplay is wonderful
  • Surprises and twists that keep on coming
  • The artwork is excellent

Cons:

  • Not much of a challenge – if you’re looking for one, that is
  • It’s over in under 10 hours

Black Ops 6 Movement, Perks, Performance and Other Changes Based on the Beta Revealed

With Treyarch hosting what Activision calls the biggest Call of Duty beta in the game’s history just a few weeks ago with Black Ops 6, the studio has now laid out what changes are being made based on feedback. There are changes to the movement, perks, equipment and a lot more.

Performance

According to Treyarch they have made progress on the performance including resolving the general script errors, issues related to the in-game user interface and improvements to the game’s asset streaming. More importantly, the studio also said they are able to chase down the source of the in-game “hitching” and deploy major fixes since the close of the beta. More work in the game’s performance with “experts across all disciplines” to improve the overall performance is being made.

Weapons

Headshot Damage

Adjustments to reward players who land multiple headshots during an engagement is in the works, however, Treyarch does “not want hit location multipliers to significantly affect the consistency of time to kill in Black Ops 6.” The studio will continue to monitor the effectiveness of headshots during launch and beyond.

Treyarch did acknowledge the low headshot damage did reduce the impact of “skillful play” and made it difficult to challenge certain power positions.

Bullet Penetration

Bullet Penetration is another system that will be improving for launch.  According to Treyarch, “players should notice fewer extreme cases of bullets doing far too much damage through certain surfaces (AKA Wall Bang), while also not penetrating as expected through others (e.g., those pesky snipers behind the radar dish on Scud).”

Other Weapon Feedback Being Looked Into

  • Improvements to fluidity of sniper ADS
  • Improved fluidity when swapping weapons during sprint and tactical sprint. We’re excited about this one!
  • Reduction of weapon motion during crouch transitions
  • Small lift to shotguns and targeted adjustments across all weapons to keep SMGs from over-performing relative to other classes

When it comes to weapon balance, expect more specific details about this near the launch patch notes.

Movement

Movement Updates 

  • Continued improvements to animation fluidity and fidelity throughout
    • We identified several areas for improvement to our 3rd Person animation fidelity across slide, dive, jump and supine prone. Our goal is that what you see in 1st Person is representative of what others see in 3rd Person in order to maintain immersion and predictability.
  • Adjustments to slide for improved predictability and fluidity
    • During Weekend 2 of the Beta, we increased the time before you could enter supine during a slide. After further assessment based on your feedback, we’ve reduced that time to find a nice middle ground between where we were in Beta Weekend 1 and Weekend 2.
    • Reduced the minimum time to slide after sprinting to prevent accidentally crouching when intending to slide, also known as a “dead slide.”
    • Slight reduction to maximum slide duration.
  • Intelligent Movement updates
    • As a reminder, you can find our suite of Intelligent Movement settings in the Movement tab under the Controller or Keyboard & Mouse settings. These settings are broken down by Sprint Assist, Mantle Assist and Crouch Assist with the intention of letting you fine-tune your experience with the result of requiring drastically fewer inputs with basic movement and Omnimovement in Black Ops 6.
    • We identified an issue in Beta with the additional settings for Mantle Assist that allows for further tuning of directional mantles. These have been resolved and should now behave as expected.

Other Confirmed Changes:

Winner’s Circle 

  • Shortened overall duration of Winner’s Circle.
  • To reduce Emote spam, players in the Winner’s Circle will now only be able to activate 1 Emote.
  • Simplified the Emote menu to make it easier to activate Emotes in the Winner’s Circle and in-game.
  • Improvements to fidelity and lighting.

Kill Counter 

  • By popular demand, we’ve added a Kill Counter on your HUD that will track your progress toward Kills-in-one-life Medals, including those who are chasing the coveted Nuclear Medal and Nuke Scorestreak.

Camera Motion 

  • We’re reducing overall camera motion on sprint, tac sprint, and slide.

Kill Order 

  • Increased ‘Kills as HVT’ team score to 3.
  • Reduced ‘HVT Survival’ score to 20.
  • Increased Score Limit to 150.
  • HVT will no longer drop their pistol when they are eliminated.
  • Improved notifications when player is selected as HVT.

Sleeper Agent 

  • Removed the time added when earning Eliminations while Sleeper Agent is active.

Equipment 

  • Stim Shot has been changed from Inventory Based to Cooldown Based by default.
  • Quartermaster (Strategist) will decrease the cooldown time.
  • Resolved an issue where the Combat Axe would not deal lethal damage at round start. It wouldn’t be a Black Ops game if you can’t hit those cross-maps at match start!

Perks 

  • After assessing Perk data from our time with the Beta, we’ve made a few updates to ensure compelling decisions are being made:
    • Assassin (Enforcer) and Bruiser (Enforcer) moved from Perk 1 to Perk 2
    • Dexterity (Enforcer) and Gung Ho (Enforcer) moved from Perk 2 to Perk 1

RC-XD Controls 

  • Updated to classic BO view-based control by default, with an option to switch to gas/brake; on controller, detonate swapped from R2 to R1 so accidental mistakes aren’t made.

Amazon Developing AAA Racing Game With Former Forza Horizon Devs at the Helm

About four months ago, Amazon Games announced a new partnership with Maverick Games to create a narrative-driven racing game set in an open world. The game’s title is still unknown, but there are signs that updates might be coming soon.

According to a job listing, Amazon is looking for a community manager to lead the strategy for their upcoming AAA racing game developed by Maverick Games. The listing states, “Amazon games is looking for a Community Manager to lead the community strategy and tactics for our forthcoming AAA racing game, developed by Maverick Games.” This role is usually filled when a game is ready to be introduced to the public, hinting that Amazon may soon reveal more about the game.

Both Amazon Games and Maverick Games are counting on this game. Amazon has seen some success with games like Lost Ark and New World, but it has also faced setbacks, such as the cancellation of the western release of Blue Protocol. For Maverick Games, this is an opportunity to prove itself, as the studio was founded by developers from Forza Horizon, including Mike Brown, which was the Creative Director of Forza Horizon 5.

While details on the game are scarce, Maverick Games has confirmed it will be a narrative-led, open-world driving game

The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, but the release date is yet to be confirmed. As we get more information, we’ll make sure to keep you informed here at MP1st.

Gunfire Games has released the last DLC for Remnant 2 today with The Dark Horizon expansion! Alongside this, players will be able to download Remnant 2 update 1.000.035, and this includes new stuff for non-buyers of the DLC as well!

Boss Rush is the ultimate game mode for players who crave non-stop action and boss battles.

Jump into the mode solo or team up with fellow Travelers in multiplayer and choose from three intense challenges: Triple Threat (a three-boss run), Trial by Fire (a seven-boss run), or The Gauntlet (a grueling nineteen-boss showdown). Test your survival skills as you fight through waves of enemies, including challenging Aberrations, on your way to face off against powerful bosses.

During the run, you’ll also earn temporary buffs—stat boosts and powerful passive bonuses—that will give you an edge when the battles heat up.

Getting started is easy. Simply head to the World Stone in Ward 13, select Boss Rush from the menu (just like you would for Campaign or Adventure), pick your difficulty, and dive in!

Even if we’re inching closer to Black Ops 6’s release, Sledgehammer Games isn’t done updating Modern Warfare 3 — not by a long shot. The studio has now pushed out the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone update for Sept. 24, and this is a server-side update that implements weapon changes, various bug fixes and more.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends End of Service Announced for Feb. 18, 2025 and Will No Longer Be Playable Three Years After Launch

While more and more studios relying on online multiplayer as the crux of their game, there is always the possibility of the game being unplayable be it for lack of players, or the servers stop working. It seems that in the case of Sumo Digital’s Hood: Outlaws & Legends, it’s a mix of both.

The studio has announced that in Feb. 18, 2025 — just three years after it launched — the game will end its run. The Hood: Outlaws & Legends end of service means the game will completely be unplayable given the game is centered on online multiplayer.

Here’s the announcement from the studio:

We regret to inform you that our game, Hood: Outlaws & Legends, will be ending service on February 18. After this date, the game, along with any Editions, DLCs, and Battle Pass items, will no longer be accessible.

This has been a difficult but necessary decision, and we understand it may be disappointing. The Hood teams deeply thank you for your support and dedication throughout this incredible adventure. We cherished every part of it and we hope your memories of Hood: Outlaws & Legends will be as treasured as ours.

Starting October 16, 2024, the game will not be sold either via physical or digital, and refunds will be offered to players who purchased the game 14 days prior to this announcement until the termination of sales.

In our review of the game, we noticed a bunch of stuff the studio did right, but also a lot of things that went wrong citing, “Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a great idea on paper, but not one so well executed.”

At the very least, the game did last three years, and is nowhere near as fast as Concord’s which got its rug pulled in less than a month.

Mortal Kombat 1 Update 1.007.001 Released for Khaos Reigns and Balance Changes This Sept. 24

NetherRealm Studios has pushed out Mortal Kombat 1 update 1.007.001 this September 24 on consoles and PC, and this is for the big Khaos Reigns DLC! Even if you aren’t buying the expansion, there’s still a lot of stuff to parse through the patch notes, as it includes fighter changes and more.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered Leaked via PSN, Set for December 10 Release

Last summer, a Soul Reaver statue displayed at Comic-Con in San Diego, along with a plaque crediting it to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered, raised many hopes for an official reveal. While the announcement never came during the event, recent developments suggest that it may finally be happening.

A leak on the PlayStation Store has revealed that the remastered versions of these iconic games could be released on December 10. The leaked page, which was quickly removed, mentioned a collection celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Soul Reaver saga. This remastered bundle is set to include Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 2, featuring updated graphics and other enhancements. The leak also included several screenshots, offering a glimpse of the improved visuals.

The original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain debuted in 1996, but it was Soul Reaver in 1999 that made the series popular. The franchise then saw the release of a sequel and a fourth title, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, in 2003. However, the series has been mostly inactive, aside from some less successful experiments like the cancelled free-to-play game Nosgoth.

Now, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered is reportedly already set up in the PlayStation Store backend, complete with the images, and even a trailer. With all this information already in place, it’s highly likely that the collection will be officially announced at tonight’s State of Play event. As we get more information, we’ll make sure to keep you informed here at MP1st.

Marvel Rivals Adds Psylocke to the Roster and Here’s Our First Look; Moon Knight Teased Too

NetEase has revealed a new character that’s set to unleash havoc on the Marvel Rivals battlefield, and it’s the mutant, Psylocke! Check out the trailer and read on for the first info on the hero.

Psylocke utilizes a vast range of psionic abilities to outsmart and outflank her enemies. Her agile speed and quick motions allow Psylocke to dash across short distances, while also being able to cloak herself and appear invisible before attacking. Her ultimate ability brings all these elements together, as Psylocke rushes across the battlefield with her wings on full display, cutting down all enemies in her path.

The version of Psylocke is inspired by the character design from best-selling comic Demon Days: X-Men by award-winning comic book artist Peach Momoko, who received the Ringo Award in 2021 as well as the Eisner Award in both 2021 and 2024. The Psylocke character design was co-created by Marvel Rivals artists and Momoko. Psylocke will also be voiced by Japanese voice actress Alpha Takahashi, who has voiced in other famous franchises such as Cyberpunk 2077.

A wandering ronin in feudal Japan, the telekinetic warrior known as Sai has devoted herself to striking down ancient demons and monsters. With her wolf Logan by her side, Psylocke won’t rest until all Yokai have fallen by her psychic blade. Sai was ripped from her reality by the Timestream Entanglement and put on display by the Collector. Alongside newfound allies, she escaped her cage and learned that other familiar warriors might still be out there. Her new quest is to gather those heroes, end this conflict, and return home.

At the end of the video, you can even see a tease for Moon Knight, which suggests this might be the next hero making their way into the game. Check the image below which we’ve screencapped from the end of the Psylocke trailer:

Fortnite Update for Sept. 24 Brings Version 4.38

Heads up! Epic Games has released a new Fortnite update this September 24, and console gamers will see this as update 4.38 on last-gen, with current-gen seeing this as version 1.000.149. Given the big v31.20 patch was just released last week, don’t expect any content from this outside of fixes.

Oddly enough, Epic Games has not acknowledged today’s patch just yet, but the studio did mention how a stability patch was released for the Xbox Series X a few days ago, so don’t be surprised if it’s the same update released now on other platforms.

We’ve also listed the known issues Epic is working on via the official Fortnite Trello board. Don’t be surprised if the ones marked as “fixed in future game update” are the issues resolved with today’s patch.

GENERAL TOP ISSUES:

  • Players may get stuck in a cannon if its damaged or falls into water while operating it.
  • Barn Assignments may appear broken when interacting with one while a Klombo is following you.
  • Additional heart slots may disappear on elimination with Slurp Juice and Health Charms.
  • Bottom of HUD can disappear after using macrobinoculars.

Investigating:

  • Swivels might break when touched while on a moving vehicle.
  • Tropical Treasures Pass may not display correctly in-game.

In Development:

  • Consumable buff timers can be overwritten when eating another consumable with a buff
  • Villagers exploring with players may destroy structures while trying to harvest.

V Rising 1.009 Released on PS5, Increases Haptic Feedback Strength Alongside Balance Changes

Stunlock has pushed V Rising update 1.009 on PS5 this September 24, and this increases the haptic feedback strength significantly, as well as a load of bug fixes affecting the UI, gameplay and even balance changes.

V Rising 1.009 Patch Notes:

General Fixes

  • Increased the strength of haptic feedback by 60%.

UI Fixes

  • Fixed stuttering that can occur when scrolling through the player list on servers with a lot of players.
  • Fixed stuttering that can occur when using the map.
  • Fixed an issue where the selection options would extend outside of the screen space in the social menu on servers with a lot of players.
  • Made it easier to see what server ruleset is selected in the Game Settings Ruleset tab.
  • Fixed an issue where players could get an inconsistent ordering of clan mates in the HUD.
  • Fixed an issue where players would sometimes not show in the clan HUD.
  • Fixed an issue where the tooltips on weapons would show incorrect information after the weapon had been unequipped.
  • The Host game and Join game buttons are no longer visible when reading the Server Info in the server list.
  • Added UI optimizations.
  • Fixed issues with scrolling in the merchant UI.
  • Fixed issues with scrolling in the Attributes tab.

  • Fixed an issue where the navigation could break when swapping between the social menu and the systems menu.
  • Fixed an issue where navigation would become unresponsive when pressing the D-pad when editing settings with a value input.

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when Leandra the Shadow Priestess respawns, Vampire Cultists spawn or Valencia the Depraved spawns her Iron Maiden.

Balance Updates

While we were looking at changes to make for this balance update, we reached out in a few public and private discords to get some community feedback on the most pressing issues related to PvP in the game right now to get the best idea we could do to alleviate current frustrations.

With that in mind, the changes we’re making are  restricted to numbers adjustments to spells that needed a little tuning down like the defensive counters and buffs, but just as importantly some others that need a little boost to help make more options viable.

Some motivations for changes are as follows:

  • We received a lot of feedback that the Whip is too strong due to its attack speed and overall damage compared to other weapons that are harder to aim. Even though the whip overall has the lowest DPS(damage per second), we increased the primary attack’s cast time to make it slightly more reactable while also lowering the DPS. This will bring it more in line with other weapons.
  • In general, defensives have been pretty oppressive. We’ve tuned down the numbers on some of the shields and defensives provided. There are other issues with strengths on defensives that can’t solved with a simple numbers adjustment, but this will have to do for now!
  • Void is omnipresent in raiding when combined with scholar blood, having a large radius that it’s very difficult not to get value out of in narrow hallways when used excessively by many Vampires at once. We’ve reduced the radius to make it a bit easier to dodge and a bit harder to get value out of when used in large groups.
  • Many projectiles and targeting offensive abilities have had their damage tuned up to make them more competitive options compared to defensive spells.
  • There’s been some rebalancing in the frost school, off-setting some of the frustrating nature of the freeze setups by increasing the shielding the freeze gives a player, which should soften the blow of the first guaranteed hit they receive when being broken out of their frozen state.
  • Some underutilized ults have gotten some buffs!

Right now we’re starting work on the next update, and in that we’re going to be able to do more of the things we weren’t able to do now. For instance, we’re aware there are concerns in pvp around how much offensive utility directional shields have, but there’s no way to adjust them properly without changing their functionality significantly, which we’re restricted from doing in a minor patch such as this.

We’re also working on some fun systems that you can look forward to that are targeted at pvp lovers, like the much requested duel system.

  • Increase absorb value from 50% to 65% of the frost freeze buff.

World War Z Free Extinction Update 1.59 Attacks Players With New Content

Saber Interactive is back at it again with another free content drop for World War Z! Called the “Extinction Update.” the download is now available for all players with console gamers seeing this as World War Z update 1.59, while current-gen has it as WWZ update version 1.022! This brings the new Arizona map in Horde Mode XL Challenge mode, new skins, and more!

World War Z Free Extinction Update Version 1.59 and Version 1.022 Patch Notes:

Think you’ve got what it takes? The new Extinction Challenge Mode raises the bar even higher, with even more aggressive zombies that are harder to take down and can infect you on contact. Allies will be tougher to distinguish from the pack and death occurs after just one incapacitation, with respawns only possible at checkpoints.

Each week in Extinction Challenge Mode, maps from one campaign episode will be featured on rotation. Players who complete all maps from any episode for the first time in this mode will receive bonus rewards like a heavy weapon skin, 350 blue coins and 1,000 gold coins!

Today’s update also adds 13 new mutators for Challenge Horde Mode:

  • Grenadier – The Bomber throws explosives until neutralized
  • Myopia – After aiming, your vision becomes blurred
  • Plague Creatures – During the wave, a random special zombie and poison cloud appears
  • Mass Contamination – The Booster infects a larger group of zombies nearby
  • Angry Turrets – At the start of the wave, all deployed turrets become neutral, posing a deadly threat to both zombies and human players
  • New Advantages for All 8 Classes – Raise the health and damage of each class by 50%

  • Fixed an issue where some prestige perks did not work immediately after unlocking

The Golden Bloom Weapon Skin Pack DLC is available for $4.99 and this brings floral patterns to the Geist 17MP pistol, Paladin LMG rifle, Keris V10 SMG, BSS-2 shotgun and MAG-5 machine gun.
