Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel “Project Orion” Enters Early Development With Veterans Studios Members Joining

The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, which is currently dubbed “Project Orion,” has just had a major update! As announced by CD Projekt Red. Project Orion has entered early development stages, with key studio members and other industry veterans joining the project.

In a press release by CD Projekt Red, the studio confirmed that work on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, aka Project Orion, has begun. This announcement comes with the news that key members of the study who previously worked on the title and its expansion, Phantom Liberty, are now on the project. Those members are.

  • Gabriel Amatangelo (Game Director)
  • Paweł Sasko (Associate Game Director)
  • Igor Sarzyński (Creative Director)
  • Andrzej Stopa (Cinematic Director)
  • Kacper Niepokólczycki (Environment Art Director)
  • Sarah Grümmer (Acting Lead Quest Designer)
  • Kacper Kościeński (Engineering Director)

Joining them at the CDPR Boston, Massachusetts, location are several industry veterans who have worked on many of the most recently released major titles.

  • Dan Hernberg is joining the team as Executive Producer. Dan has previously worked as Head of Production at Amazon Games, Head of Production and Product Management at Panic Button, and Lead Product Manager at Blizzard Entertainment — and contributed to such titles as New WorldApex Legends, and Diablo III, among others.
  • Ryan Barnard’s past credits include Game Director at Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft, as well as Gameplay Director at Hitman developer IO Interactive. He will be contributing his skillset as Design Director.
  • Alan Villani is entering the Project Orion team as Engineering Director, having previously lent his technical expertise as VP of Technology on various WB Game products, including technical direction on several Mortal Kombat titles.
  • Anna Megill is an award-winning game writer and author with 20 years’ experience in video games. She joins Project Orion as Lead Writer on the heels of narrative contributions to such titles as Control (Remedy), Dishonored: Death of The Outsider (Arkane), Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (Ubisoft Massive), Guild Wars 2 (ArenaNet), and the upcoming Fable (Playground Games).
  • Alexander Freed will further bolster the writing for Project Orion. The New York Times bestselling novelist, narrative designer, and comic book writer with over 15 years of game writing experience has previously worked as Lead Writer at BioWare on, among other titles, Star Wars: The Old Republic. He has also written and consulted for various major studios, including DICE, Obsidian Entertainment, Wizards of the Coast, and 20th Century Fox’s games division FoxNext.

Despite entering development, don’t expect anything from Project Orion soon, as most of the studio is working on the new Witcher game. Since November 2023, nearly half of CD Projekt Red’s workforce has moved to the next Witcher project. We expect that number to have grown since then, though that’s not to say that the rest of the team won’t be put on this new project.

Either way, both projects are likely years away.

Jagged Alliance 3 Update 1.50 Delivers Free Content in Patch 1.5 This Feb. 6, 2024

Haemimont Games has released a new patch for Jagged Alliance 3 that gives all players free content! Jagged Alliance 3 update 1.50 (PS5 update version 1.005) is now live, and this is tagged as dev version 1.5, and includes mod tools along with gameplay fixes and more. Read on for what’s new for the game this February 6 in the official patch notes.

Jagged Alliance 3 Update 1.50/1.005 (Version 1.5) Patch Notes:

With its latest free update, Patch 1.5 “Larry”, the critically acclaimed turn-based strategy game Jagged Alliance 3 introduces new content in the form of optional and variable rule sets, enriching your campaign in Grand Chien with fresh challenges and opportunities. Among the examples of how to intensify the trials for your Mercs are features like “Body Count,” where your fellow warriors confront larger enemy squads, “Hard Lessons,” which prolongs the time needed for a Merc to level up, and “Ammo Scarcity,” as the name suggests, introduces scarcity of ammunition. Conversely, players can also leverage rules such as “A.I.M Legendary Deals,” which reduce the starting salaries of elite and legendary Mercs, aiding their strategic endeavors. Players have the liberty to combine these rules as they see fit, shaping their challenges as they embark on their mission to liberate Grand Chien!

Moreover, update 1.5 empowers dedicated modders with extensive tools to modify, enhance, and even rebuild most aspects of the game. We eagerly anticipate the release of outstanding mods in the upcoming weeks and months. If you are interested in mods, keep an eye on our social media presences, where we showcase some mods in the spotlight: Link

Patch 1.5 introduces a treasure trove of powerful modding tools. The modding toolset now encompasses most of what was used during the development of the game. Additionally, we’ve introduced some new Game Rules that would allow for new special twists on your playthroughs and tweak the difficulty to your liking.

  • New Extensive modding tools were introduced. Create new campaigns, and quests, edit maps, and much more.
  • Lua Debug Adapter to debug your mods using Visual Studio Code while the game is running.
  • Example mods that are included in game files
  • 10 New Game rules introduced
    • Hard Lessons – Mercs level up at a slower pace.
    • Body Count – Increases the number of enemies in hostile squads.
    • Under the Weather – Severe weather effects are more common.
    • Bobby Pays – Increases the prices in the online store “Bobby Ray’s Guns and Things”
    • Ammo Scarcity – Find less ammo, throwable items and explosives.
    • Heavy Wounds – Wounds also hamper Free Move and Accuracy. Affects all characters – mercs, allies and enemies.
    • Hiring Game Rules
      • A.I.M. Always Online – Mercs are never “offline” and will not refuse contracts without a good reason.
      • A.I.M. Legendary Deals – Starting salaries of all Elite and Legendary mercs are decreased.
      • A.I.M. Platinum – Unlocks legendary mercs on start (except retired mercs).
      • A.I.M. Union Rules – Mercs demand even higher salaries as they progress. Starting salaries are unaffected.
  • Fixed issue where combat wouldn’t end after defeating Siegfried
  • Fixed issue where game would softlock when trying to cheese active pause after “Combat start” sequence is initiated.
  • Fixed issues where quests would break upon death of certain NPCs.
  • Fixed issue where levelling up with XP from Scouting operation would not give a perk point.
  • Fixed issue where Inspired would not give extra action points.
  • Fixed issue where villagers would trigger alarms
  • Fixed “Enemy Repositioning” softlock on the Twin Manors quest.
  • Additional fixes and adjustments

That’s it for this title update. For more on the game, head on over to our Jagged Alliance 3 game hub.

KOEI Tecmo has rolled out Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening update 1.09, which is for patch version 1.1.5. This houses a few bug fixes that affect bugs and even gameplay. Read on for what’s new in the latest update for the strategy game below.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Update 1.09 (Patch Version 1.1.5) Patch Notes:

Critical Bug Fixes

  • – Fixed an issue that caused the game to crush (sic) under certain conditions.
    Bug Fixes
  • – Fixed an issue that prevented the setting of the battle range from functioning properly in some counties.

Yep, that’s about it. Given we just got the Battle of Komaki-Nagakute DLC last December, don’t expect any major content from the game for now.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening was released last July of 2023 (the English version), and continues the storied franchise’s strategy gameplay.

About Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening:

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening

Players are supported by faithful retainers who act on their own judgement. The “Dominion” system will allow you to obtain and grant territory to retainers. In return, retainers who are given the land will dedicate themselves to the development of the clan. Divvy up and parcel out the beautifully detailed Warring States Japan as you like, and make it prosper!
Over 2,200 officers will be included, the greatest number in the series. Come together with highly individualistic retainers and move history!

The game will also include various features that befit the 40th anniversary of the series, including scenarios, events, policies, and more, as well as elements from the previous titles such as an editing function that will allow them to change officer status, background music and scenarios, or create new clans.

Once a new patch is released, we’ll let our strategy readers know.

PS5 Beta Update Rolling Out Today; Dualsense Improvements, Console Power Light Options, and More

A new PS5 beta update will be available later today, and though it doesn’t come packed with major features, it does have some pretty neat quality-of-life improvements.

What’s in the New Update?

Here’s what we know is coming in today’s beta update.

DualSense wireless controller built-in mic and speaker audio enhancements

We’ve updated the device software of the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers to improve their sound features.

  • Controller speaker enhancements. The controller speakers can now produce higher volume sound, allowing you to hear in-game sounds and voice chat audio more clearly.
  • Improved noise cancellation. The mic input quality on these controllers has been improved, courtesy of a new AI machine learning model. Background noise from button presses and game audio are suppressed, resulting in a better voice chat experience. Install the system software beta and update the controller device software to enjoy enhanced clarity of your voice chat audio when using the controller mic.
  • With this update, you may feel that the sounds coming from your controller speaker may sound louder. You can adjust the controller speaker volume from the control center.

Share Screen Interactions

Players watching Share Screen in full screen mode can now use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host’s gameplay.

  • Viewers can move a pointer around, send a ping or draw a line on the shared screen, allowing them to highlight certain objects or areas to guide the host player more accurately.
  • Viewers can send emoji-based reactions to the host’s screen to visually encourage and celebrate gameplay actions.
  • Note: this feature is available by default but can be turned off by the host in the Share Screen settings. Both the host and the viewer must be participating in the beta to use this feature during the beta period.

Adjust Brightness of PS5 Power Indicator

You can now adjust the brightness of your PS5 console’s power indicator.

  • Go to [Settings] > [System] > [Beep and Light], and then select [Brightness].

How Can You Join This Beta Update?

There are a few ways to participate in these updates, the first being to sign up on the official PS5 beta program page. But even if you do sign up, it does not guarantee a spot in the beta test.

Therefore, you may want to try your luck with the other method of joining. Testers can invite up to four other people to join the beta. This has been a more commonly used method amongst players to join in on these tests.

Otherwise, you’ll have to wait to use these features until the update is out of beta. That is typically a month or two, depending on how large of a beta test it is. Seeing the feature lineup, we don’t expect this test to be lengthy.

If there are any additional notes once the update is out, we’ll be sure to let you all know.

R6 Siege Update 1.000.072 Shoots Out for Hotfix This Feb. 6 (Update)

Ubisoft has deployed (Rainbow Six) R6 Siege update 1.000.072 on last-gen and current-gen platforms, and this is for a hotfix. Following the big Y8S4 title update from December, don’t expect anything big until the next major update is announced.

R6 Siege Update 1.000.072 for Feb. 6:

Update: Ubisoft has confirmed the fix in today’s patch and it doesn’t seem to involve any gameplay-specific changes.

The social menu on consoles has been re-enabled successfully. The workaround using the Ubisoft Connect menu is no longer needed.

Yep, that’s about it.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has not divulged what’s in the hotfix for today so far other than acknowledging that a patch is to be pushed out during maintenance.

Hopefully, this fixes the frame rate issue players have experienced with new operator, Tubarão. Alongside that issue, there are also other issues that aren’t as big, though we’d love to be tweaked.

Once Ubisoft releases the official changelog, we’ll update the article, so make sure to update the article from time to time to see what’s new. We’ll be updating the article with info as we get more confirmation of the fixes and issues from the community.

If you know of a specific fix that’s been applied with the hotfix, leave a comment below and let us know.

Rainbow Six Siege Update 2.68 Rappels Out This Feb. 6, 2024 (Update)

Rainbow Six Siege update 2.68 is now out on all platforms, and this is a hotfix rolled out during the shooter’s maintenance period. Given we just got the big Y8S4 title update last December, don’t expect anything major from this patch outside of fixes.

Rainbow Six Siege Update 2.68 for Feb. 6, 2024:

  • The functionalities of the Tinker Station can also be accessed on the go from the Inventory, in two ways:
  • Pressing [M] while nothing is highlighted opens the general Tinkering Menu.

RECALIBRATION AND OPTIMIZATION

  • Merged both functions into one tab – Tinkering
  • Players are now unable to optimize beyond the value stored in their Recalibration Library.
  • The optimization upgrade steps have been modified so that players will no longer be required to pay the full price for an incomplete optimization step.
    • Example: You have +10% SMG Damage in the Library and are trying to optimize an SMG that currently has +9.7% SMG Damage. Since the highest value in your library is +10%, you will only be able to upgrade by +0.3% and will only pay the material price for the 0.3% portion instead of paying the full price of an upgrade step.

RECALIBRATION LIBRARY

  • It has received UI improvements and can be accessed from the Tinkering Station.

ARMOR KITS

SKILL MODS

  • Implemented a duplicate removal system for Skill Mods.
    • When a superior Skill Mod is acquired, it will automatically replace the existing one, resulting in the deconstruction of the inferior mod.
    • Similarly, if an inferior Skill Mod is obtained, it will be automatically deconstructed.
    • In both scenarios, the deconstructed Skill Mod will yield the corresponding amount of printer filament.

GAME MODES

DESCENT

  • Lowered the required heat necessary to reach the Nemesis. This will reduce the minimum loop at which Players can encounter Nemesis to 4 and the maximum loop to 9.
  • Decreased the reward requirements in Descent by 1-5 loops. Players will now receive more loot caches / rewards for completing the same number of loops as before.
  • Added Exotic, Named & Reconstructed caches within the NSA Tech store found outside the Descent entrance.
  • Added Descent Outfits in the NSA Store – all 4 different color variants.
  • Added Talent pool rotations in Descent that update every 3 days. These pools have different thematic and consist of 35 talents and 6 exotic talents each.
    • Descent Talents Pool rotation now has its own menu where the current rotation and available talents can be checked.
    • The button prompt for the menu can be found within the Descent entrance AR window.
    • The duration of the rotation and its name is now also displayed.

OTHER

  • Fixed the issue with the Summit LVL 100 XP.
  • Various stability improvements and script optimizations implemented in Countdown, Descent, and Summit.

FIXES

BUGS

  • Weapon & Gear caches in open world & missions were made to scale with the mission / global difficulty settings.
  • There should be an increase in the quality of gear and its stats now, across the board – especially remarkable on Challenging & Heroic difficulties.
  • Skill Mods of a higher level than the player can no longer be equipped.
  • The scope mod from Oh Carol Marksman Rifle can no longer be applied to any weapon.
  • Fixed the issue that made the blueprints from the named sidearms of certain specializations obtainable from Reconstructed Caches.
  • Fixed the issue where the majority of Named Gear Piece Blueprints obtained from Reconstructed Caches did not require Brand-Specific materials.
  • The Gift named backpack was in the Vests section of the Crafting Station.
  • The blueprints for Big Show and Fox’s Prayer could not be found in the Crafting Station after being acquired, now they have been added.
  • Fixed the issue that allowed keeping the increased magazine size from the True Patriot Gear Set even after swapping loadouts.
