Phasmophobia Winter’s Jest Update Sleds Out via Patch 1.000.028
Krampus returns in Phasmophobia with the Winter’s Jest 2025 event! Console gamers will see this download appear as Phasmophobia update 1.000.028, and this not only brings the event back, but also ushers in various gameplay fixes.
To mark the event, players will also be treated to double XP and rewards for the first week of the Winter’s Jest event.

Phasmophobia’s New Update on December 16 Brings Back Winter’s Jest via Patch 1.000.028/v0.15.1.0
New
- Winter’s Jest: Phasmophobia’s annual winter event has begun, and with it comes the return of Krampus. Look out for this limited-time ghost model across any of the event maps during Winter’s Jest. For more details on what to expect from the event, head to our announcement blog.
- Double XP & Rewards: For the first week of Winter’s Jest (16th – 23rd, 12PM GMT), players will be able to earn Double XP and money from all investigations.
Changes
- Banshee will now only present as female (names and ghost models).

- Krampus is now defined as male and will only present as so (names and ghost models).
- Ghost types are now sorted alphabetically in the Journal. (English language only)
- Nell’s Diner now unlocks for players at Level 5.
- Lowered RAM usage across all maps.
- Dead players will no longer be rewarded ghost identification event points.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue that caused cabinet trophy titles not being translated correctly.
- Fixed an issue in the break room of Nell’s Diner that prevented VR players from teleporting.
- Fixed an issue that caused object interactions in Nell’s Diner despite the power being off (i.e. Arcade Machine, ATM)
- Fixed an issue that prevented the Ouija Board from responding with numbers.
- Fixed an issue that disabled sound from the Nell’s Diner TV.
- Fixed an issue that caused Obake fingerprints being left by all ghosts, and fingerprints not being visible on some doors in Nell’s Diner.
- Fixed an issue that would cause the player to become stuck in the police car outside of Nell’s Diner.
- Fixed an issue that prevented players from assigning new colors for players or cursors.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the ghost to spawn on the roof of Nell’s Diner.
- Fixed an ‘‘issue’’ that caused the eggs in Nell’s Diner to look not-egg like.
- Fixed an issue that prevented VR players from teleporting on to certain areas of Nell’s Diner.
- Fixed an issue that displayed Japanese text on the Nells’ Diner leaflet as too small to read.
- Fixed an issue that caused Steam Deck voice chat to not work correctly at the start of a contract.
- Fixed an issue that would cause players to disconnect when viewing the CCTV screen when multiple cameras were active. (If this is still encountered, please report via our Help Centre)
- Various other fixes and improvements.
Don’t be surprised if we see a hotfix get released during the month, as is the case with some of Kinectic Games’ major updates.
