Resident Evil 4 Update 1.400 Dispatched for PS5 Pro Enhancements
Following the rest of the third-party games getting patches for the PS5 version which implements PS5 Pro support, it’s Capcom’s turn today, as the company has released Resident Evil 4 update 1.400 to add in PS5 Pro enhancements.
What’s New in Resident Evil 4 Update 1.400
While Capcom has not released any official changelog just yet, expect improvements on the game’s graphics and performance. Out of the box, Resident Evil 4 has two modes when it comes to technical options.
- Resolution Mode – Makes the game look sharp, and gives the best visual quality.
- Performance Mnde: High frame rate, smooth with little to no stuttering, but images don’t look as sharp as in Resolution Mode.
Upon our inspection, there is no new graphic mode toggle or settings after applying the patch. Chances are, the game’s visuals are made better with the PS5 Pro’s PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), which is explained by Sony as:
AI-Driven Upscaling: We’re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail.
If Capcom releases a changelog, we’ll update the article to reflect it.
Another Resident Evil game getting PS5 Pro support is Resident Evil Village, and don’t be surprised if it gets released today as well. You can check out the list Sony gave out in terms of games available at launch that will support the PS5 Pro.
