Black Ops Update 1.06/1.006 Fixes Sniper Issues on July 31
Iron Galaxy has released a new game updater for Call of Duty: Black Ops on PS4, PS5 today, July 31.
While this doesn’t bring in any new content (understandable why), it does fix one nagging issue that’s been around since the ports’ re-release.
For the complete info on what got changed, read on.
Black Ops 1 Sniping Issues Resolved via Update 1.06/1.006
According to Iron Galaxy, today’s fix touches on:
- Adjusting sniper tuning to expected values
- Addressing certain situations where friends in a party can be placed on the enemy team
That’s about it for the fixes for today, and remember: this update only applies to the PS4, PS5 versions. For those still playing the game on Xbox via backward compatibility, tough luck, and it seems Activision has no intention of fixing the issues on that platform version.
While we did get a patch for fixes today, there are issues that still need to be resolved. Some of the items we think need a tweak/fix include:
- Dead zones
- Connection issues
- Lobby balancing
- “The party is no longer active” bug
- Splitscreen implementation (not really a bug, but they removed it)
Aside from Black Ops, Black Ops 2 received a patch yesterday that fixed a few things such as:
- Improved mid-match lobby backfilling
- Reduced input delay for 120Hz+ displays
- Zombies matches will now prioritize PS5 hosts and no longer fall back to PS4 hosts
- Smoke grenade VFX fix
- Added a toggle to view or hide other players’ custom emblems in the Multiplayer options menu. By default, custom emblems remain visible.
Unfortunately, yesterday’s patch doesn’t fix the modded lobby hack that bricked player accounts. We’re hoping a patch is released this coming week to sort this issue out, or the game will remain unplayable still.

In the last paragraph you put sor this issue out
