Wardogs Season 3 to Be Brought “Significantly Forward” Amid S2 Missteps;
This past week, Bulkhead Interactive launched Season 2 of Wardogs. While that should have been the start of a new level playing field alongside new pieces of content to play through, it soon sank into exploits and progression that wasn’t as deep as the devs thought.
Instead of resetting progression or adding more barriers to make the grind last longer, the devs are doing something completely different, and that’s just launching the new season (Season 3) much, much sooner than planned.
This was something the devs confirmed in a statement to the community.
Wardogs Season 3 Launching Much Earlier Than Expected
Over on X (formerly Twitter), Bulkhead Interactive addressed they made a mistake in the new season, stating, “Season 2 meant to be a fresh start, and for a lot of you it hasn’t felt like one. We sped up progression on deliberately and tried to balance the game better, as set out in the patch notes, but it was the wrong call.”
As loads of players have pointed out in social media or the game’s community, the planned progression that should have lasted the entire season, was achieved by players within days. Bulkhead also acknowledged this, adding, “Some players are reaching end game gear like Tier 4 armour and MBTs within days, so the wipe never really landed.”
Rather than roll out a mandatory reset, the developers admitted that “Some things are clearly out of balance” and ” want to see how those play out first,” before doing anything drastic.
“We won’t be doing a knee jerk reset this weekend, as that would be unfair on everyone already enjoying the climb. Instead, we’re looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3 and some of its content, so you get a proper fresh start. More details in our dev vlog next week,” the studio concluded.
This is commendable by the devs, and we’re hoping this level of communication continues throughout the game’s lifecycle. As the studio mentioned, we should be hearing more about their plans this coming week, and we’ll be sure to let our readers know about it once we know more/
In related shooter news, Battlefield 6 is getting some heat from the community due to what appears to be AI-developed cosmetics, and the studio has released a statement about it.
