Battlefield 2042 Each Season to Only Get 1 New Map Confirmed via Updated Website

Battlefield 2042 season

It looks like each new season in Battlefield 2042 will yield just one new map, though that’s the trajectory we’ve been seeing ever since Season 1 kicked off, and the same happened in Season 2 as well.

In a new update on the Battlefield 2042’s maps page, it now states that “each season” will introduce “a new map.” This confirms that for the rest of the new seasons coming in, it seems we can only expect one new map as well. Here’s a screenshot of it in case it gets changed:

I admit, this is a bummer but given how EA has confirmed that BF2042 has underperformed so far, it’s to be expected. Outside of the new All-Out Warfare map, we also get a rework of an existing map, with Season 2’s mid-season patch bringing in the Orbital map rework.

Could we get more in the future? I doubt that, since it looks like EA is already hard at work on the next Battlefield game. This time around, the next BF game will feature a full-fledged campaign, and what looks to be an updated Frostbite engine even.

DICE has Season 3 left to be revealed this year, and once we know more about it, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. At the very least, it looks like a new tank is incoming outside of the new map and Specialist.

Are you bummed out at this news or were you expecting this level of support given the game has underperformed so far?
