During PlayStation’s recent State of Play, it was confirmed that Days Gone will receive a remaster. Like games such as Horizon Zero Dawn, if you already own the PS4 version of Days Gone, you’ll be able to pay just $10 to access the enhanced visuals and new content.

However, it has been revealed that if you obtained the game through PlayStation Plus, you won’t be able to get this upgrade for $10. Instead, you’ll have to pay the full price to enjoy everything this remaster has to offer.

Although this information wasn’t disclosed during the State of Play, PlayStation confirmed that Days Gone owners who got their copy through PS Plus cannot pay the $10 fee to upgrade to the remastered version. Instead, they will have to purchase the full version for $49.99 to experience the upgraded features.

This isn’t the first time PlayStation has done this. We’ve seen it before with games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy VII Remake. These games were also on PS Plus, and to get their PlayStation 5 remasters, players had to buy the full version.

Fans will probably not be happy about this decision. PlayStation knows that many players got Days Gone through PS Plus, so they don’t want to lose out on too much revenue from this remaster. However, this might lead to fewer players buying the remastered version.

Days Gone Remastered will be available on PlayStation 5 on April 25, 2025. This new version will feature visual improvements, and full support for the DualSense wireless controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. It will also add new accessibility features, new game modes like the Horde Assault survival arcade mode, Permadeath mode, and a lot more extra content for players to enjoy.

If you’ve yet to play the game, and the remaster is your first time trekking this zombie-filled world, go check out our review of it to see why it’s worth your time.

So, the remaster is only $10 if you already own Days Gone on PS4. I thought $10 was kinda cheap for a remaster.

It’s the way it’s been for a while now. At least it isn’t a one to one, lazy port with identical visuals and a THIRTY quid upgrade too like Ghost of Tsushima had in 2021. Still never touched that to this day. Instead of 30 or even 10, PlayStation got 0 from me lol.

This makes sense, PS plus is subscription and once you pay to update it creates ownership and it’s impossible to separate the two. Owning an upgrade doesn’t make sense unless you own the original. Best case at some point the remaster goes into plus.

Not really since Bethesda had no problem giving everyone the PS5 version of Fallout 4 if you had it on Plus. Even though I think it took them a week or 2 after launch for them to come to the decision.

Horizon Zero Dawn was never on PS Plus. It was given away, 100%, for free in early 2021 in the Covid stay at home initiative. ANY PSN account could add it to their library to keep forever including the DLC.

THIS VERSION WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE 10 DOLLAR UPGRADE. It was only 2 months ago. Try and do 3 mins of gaming journalism next time.

FFVII Remake is not owned by Sony and it is not their decision to allow people who got it on Plus, to get the free PS5 version when it came out. Square Enix went back on this 6 months later and let everyone on PS Plus, who redeemed it on PS4, have the PS5 version for free. Gaming…. journalism, try it sometime.

It’s up to Sony now to allow the same with this Days Gone upgrade on the Plus version. They really should because Bethesda eventually gave everyone the PS5 version of Fallout 4 who got it on Plus originally.
