Death Stranding Update 1.08 Released Today

death stranding january 31 update

Kojima Productions has released Death Stranding update 1.08 today, and it’s live now on PS4! Given this is an unannounced patch, don’t expect anything major or any new content. Checking the game’s update history, it only mentions various fixes, and nothing more.

Death Stranding update 1.08 patch notes:

  • Various performance improvements.

While that’s the only thing mentioned in the notes, it most likely fixed the bug that came with update 1.07 where users were having issues black screening when attempting to manual save. Reddit user |||Brookly||| posted an explanation of the game for those unaware, and added info as well.

The update bar animation would fill up 10% then stop and the screen would flicker and start the animation again from 0%, then the bar would fill up again partway like 20% and then do the same thing — happened like 5 times then bar finally filled up to 100% and update was done—scared me thought I was about to lose progress.

Also in my PS4 ‘notifications’ there was a message that said “saved data order progress cannot upload” which wasn’t there until the update today—though in the game my saved progress was fine.

In other Death Stranding news, don’t forget that the game is hitting PCs in 2020! Also of note, Heartman’s actor is teasing something, too.
