Bethesda is taking the Fallout 76 servers down on April 7, and this is for planned maintenance where a new title update is set to be released on all platforms.

Given we just got the big Ghoul Within update a few weeks ago, this patch ushers in fixes more than anything else.

Fallout 76 Servers Are Down Today, April 7?

Update: Check out the patch notes in today’s update for everything that got fixed.

Original Story:

While the usual FO76 server outages occur on a Tuesday, Bethesda has decided to trigger this one on a Monday. Players can expect the Fallout 76 servers to be under maintenance for a few hours starting at 10 am ET/9 am CT/7 am PT/10 pm HKT.

No word on how long it will take, but based on past maintenance activities, it should run for at least 2-4 hours. Sometimes even more. Bethesda does update the Status Portal from time to time, though not in real-time.

What’s going to be fixed in the new Fallout 76 title update?

Bethesda hasn’t shared the patch notes just yet (understandably so), but based on the bugs that surfaced from the latest season, expect fixes to the jetpack and the Ghoul perk.

The devs also confirmed an issue with the Rad Specialist perk and said, “The team (with the help of all your reports) have confirmed an issue with the ghoul-exclusive Rad Specialist perk that is causing other perks cards to become unequipped while it is active.”

“A fix is currently being investigated, but in the meantime, we recommend waiting to use Rad Specialist until we’re able to release an update,” the devs added. Note that this announcement/acknowledgement was made 19 days ago, so that’s more than enough time to investigate, work on a fix and submit it to certification.

Once the complete patch notes are out, we’ll have it up on the site. While we’re not expecting it to be as big of changelog as the Ghoul Within patch, this should still be chockfull of bug fixes and improvements.
