Fallout 76 New Update 2.16

Fallout 76’s last major update of the year is almost here, but before that gets slotted in, the servers need to be taken down this December 2 on all platforms.

Players will be taken out of games and won’t be able to connect online for a few hours as Bethesda conducts maintenance in order to roll out the Burning Springs update as part of the game’s 23rd season.

Fallout 76 Offline and Down on December 2

Update 3 (12/2 at 12mn): After satating that servers are back online, Bethesda has acknowledged that there are returning login issues as they are investigating once again.

Update 2: For those that can’t login, Bethesda is aware of it, stating, “The team is aware of log-in issues for Fallout
76. Thank you for your patience as we investigate.”

Update: The Burning Springs update patch notes are available now.

The server downtime starts at 10am ET/9am CT/7am PT/10pm HKT on all platforms. There’s no timeframe given, but if past downtimes are any indication, this should take at least 3-4 hours, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it hits 5-6 hours of server outage.

While the patch notes for Burning Springs aren’t out yet, we do know that Walton Goggins will reprise his role as The Ghoul in today’s update.

Alongside that, players can expect Season 23: Blood x Rust to introduce new goodies to unlock, “including “Raiderized” Workbenches to give your C.A.M.P. a freshly pillaged feel, cosmetics paying tribute to Fallout: New Vegas (including a snazzy Checkered Suit), exclusive rewards for Fallout 1st members and much more!”

As Fallout 76 denizens continue to play, they’ll accumulate SCORE to rank up and earn Tickets that they can redeem from the in-game Seasons menu.

This update also introduces a massive map expansion that adds a whole new region to explore, new Bounty Hunting missions, and of course, gameplay improvements. Once the patch notes are out, we’ll have it up on the site alongside the corresponding version number.

If anything changes regarding the server outage schedule, expect the article to be updated.

For those that want their friends to jump in, Fallout 76 is heavily discounted on the PSN Store as part of its End of Year sale.

I would not say MASSIVE expansion. The old would mean a whole new map then some.
