While Epic Games just released a gargantuan of an update the other day with a new Fortnite update that brings in the Chapter 2 content, the developer has rolled out Fortnite update 2.40, and it’s to fix and tweak a few things. Hello everyone!

We wanted to give everyone a heads up that we’ve just released a hotfix to tone down how restrictive leeching is in certain circumstances. We’ve seen some cases where players may be over restricted in matches and not receiving rewards.. even when properly participating. This fix is currently being applied and should be fully released to all players over the next hour.

Additionally, We’re going to be removing the leeching penalty from Private / Friend Matches in the v11.10 client update. This change will no longer penalize players for playing with friends, lower levels, stream viewers, etc.. as long as the match is private.

We are continuing to monitor the system and will make adjustments as needed to ensure we have a system that rewards participating players properly.

Given the update, this is mostly it when it comes to fixes. Mind, it’s commendable how fast Epic is when it comes to these things, so I’m not complaining.
