Microsoft Confirms Major Xbox Price Increase Across Europe and the UK
When Xbox confirmed another price increase around the world starting on August 1, it only shared the new prices for the United States in dollars. It also announced that the 2 TB Series X model would no longer be available.
After waiting around six weeks, Microsoft has now revealed the new prices for Xbox consoles in Europe and the UK. The reason for the delay is now easier to understand, as the Xbox Series X now costs €200 more than before in Europe.
The same trend is affecting other consoles as well. Sony has increased PS5 and PS5 Pro prices several times, and Nintendo has already confirmed that Switch 2 prices will also rise in September.
Xbox Series X Now Costs €200 More After Microsoft Price Hike
As spotted by users on ResetEra, the difference between Xbox prices in 2020 and 2026 is huge. The 1TB models now cost €200 more, while the 512GB versions have increased by €150. The 1TB Xbox Series S now costs twice as much as it did six years ago.
In the UK, the 1TB models have gone up by £170, while the 512GB versions have increased by £130.

- 512GB Xbox Series S was €349.99 now €499.99
- 1TB Xbox Series S was €399.99 now €599.99
- 1TB Xbox Series X Digital was €549.99 now €749.99
- 1TB Xbox Series X Disc was €599.99 now €799.99
In UK:
- 512GB Xbox Series S was £299.99 now £429.99
- 1TB Xbox Series S was £349.99 now £519.99
- 1TB Xbox Series X Digital was £449.99 now £619.99
- 1TB Xbox Series X Disc was £499.99 now £669.99
At the moment, it’s not certain if there will be another price increase. However, with memory and storage prices continuing to rise and ongoing supply shortages, another increase is likely before the end of the current console generation. This news comes after a difficult period for Xbox. The company has gone through a major wave of layoffs, with several first-party studios becoming independent, moving under new ownership, or being shut down.
Microsoft has also said it will bring back permanent console exclusives on a case-by-case basis to give players a stronger reason to buy Xbox hardware.
