Just a few days ago, Ubisoft held a public test session for XDefiant that had anyone with a capable PC play the game before release post the beta. One of the things some players have noticed is how the XDefiant movement speed seems to have been adjusted compared to the beta.
If you played the beta and thought the movement speed and whatnot was fine, you’ll be glad to know that the movement wasn’t adjusted or even touched at all. This was confirmed by XDefiant Executive Producer Mark Rubin, who went on Twitter to confirm this bit of info.
I totally believe you and we are looking at where that might feel like the case but it didn't come from changing the movement. In other words I want to squash any thoughts that we purposefully changed the movement to be slower. That did not happen.

i.e. We believe the people who say that their movement feels off and we are trying to figure out why. And it's tough that some people say that and some people don't. If everyone said it then it would be easy to fix. But you can see clips everywhere of people moving just fine.

In addition to that, Rubin also confirmed that XDefiant will use Google servers, which apparently doesn’t cover South Africa currently (a bummer for would-be XDefiant players in the area).
We don't have a server in SA right now. It will be coming but right now we are on Google game servers and they don't cover that region.

It’s refreshing to see how Rubin has been quite active in engaging with the community in answering concerns about the game. Let’s just remember that we don’t need to be a pain in the ass when talking to devs and people connected to the game. I mean, this is also why some game devs would rather not interact with game fans given the hostility.
In other XDefiant news, Rubin has also shared that they have content for XDefiant planned for “man years to come.”
XDefiant still has no firm release date yet, but per the devs, is expected to be released in the first half of October.
