Battlefield 6 Year One Celebration Disappoints Fans; “Greediest F2P Games Have Better Celebrations”

With Battlefield 6’s first-year anniversary inching closer and closer, EA and the rest of the Battlefield Studios have seen it fit to mark this occasion with a celebration in-game.

While this normally warrants a thumbs up, it seems the Battlefield community isn’t happy with what the developers have started with the “Celebrate Year 1” event and rewards for Battlefield 6.

To say players are unhappy with it is an understatement.

Battlefield 6’s First Year Anniversary Rewards Aren’t Anything to Get Excited About

For reference, here are the rewards players were able to earn just by logging in as part of the game’s first-year anniversary:

Day 1 “Lest We Forget” Player Card
Day 2 15-Minute Career XP Booster
Day 3 DB-12 Shotgun
Day 4 15-Minute Battle Pass XP Booster
Day 5 M121 A2 LMG
Day 6 “Dap Me Up” Player Card
Day 7 VCR-2 Assault Rifle

These rewards can be claimed until October 13, when Season 4 ends and Season 5 kicks off.

Now, here’s the rub: the Battlefield 6 player base thinks this is a lazy anniversary job by DICE and the rest of Battlefield Studios — especially when it comes to rewards.

Breaking it down, the rewards are two 15-minute XP boosters (yes, the lowest the game has in terms of boosters), two Player Cards, and three weapons, which are readily available and unlockable just by doing the challenges.

One person on the game’s subreddit even called it “a huge slap in the face to fans,” while another said, “The greediest F2P games have better celebrations,” which now has over 440 upvotes, meaning a lot of players agree with the sentiment.

Some people in the community think the developers or EA should have given us Battlefield Coins (Boins), so that the player base can pick items out in the in-game store, though we know that’s highly unlikely given how much publisher EA loves money.

Will EA and DICE do something for October 10? Probably not, but we’d love to be proven wrong.

At the very least, players do have Season 5 to look forward to, and that kicks off next week on October 13.
